We are traveling Italy via train. Can transfers be arranged from the train station and which station is closest? We are thinking of 4 days next summer, how early should reservations be made for July? Thanks.

From memory I think Orvieto is the closest main railway station and I'm sure the castle will be able to arrange transfers for you, however I strongly recommend that you hire a car while you're there as the castle is a bit off the beaten track in a quiet and lovely rural location, but without your own transport you will miss out on seeing the area properly. I'd make your reservations as soon as possible.
