I booked 3 rooms here for my family in August, 5 adults & 1 child. There was a great deal on for a 2 night stay with B&B that included one evening meal in the bistro. I was also delighted that the single room suplement didnt apply like so many of the big hotels so everyone got a great deal. Everyone said that the breakfast was lovely, no complaints what so ever with everything getting the thumbs up. My husband & I joined the gang for dinner in the Bistro on Saturday night. The food was fab, all 8 starters & all 8 mains, think only 3 of us managed to fit in desert & again it was lovely. OK the rooms are dated but they're clean. We'll be back to visit again.

The Brosna Lodge is a small hotel in a small, Irish, provincial town seemingly run with very few staff, but with some surprises. It is an old building and the decor is fading a little. The rooms are small but everything was clean, comfortable and well attended to. Dinner was in the bar and I thought I spotted the owner doubling up as chef so I wasn't expecting much.
But, surprise, surprise, dinner was served promptly, piping hot and delicious! Not a re-heat either. The food quality on the second day of my stay was equally good. Overall, staff were friendly and helpful, food excellent. Recommended.

Stayed in the Brosna last weekend in a twin room. We were visiting family in Banagher and were spending the evening with them. When we arrived in the Brosna heating wasn't on in the room but we mentioned it to a friendly staff member and that was sorted immediately. We then went to bar for a drink and some food. We were offered a seat in dinning room but it was chilly in there so we decided to eat in the bar. Food was lovely, we didn't want anything fancy, it was basic menu and not cheap but we both really enjoyed the homemade chips and the gougons. We went to meet with family and had great evening. Returned to hotel at 11.30 and there was music playing. We decided to have a drink in the bar and afterwards went to our room, we may as well have stayed in the bar because we could hear everything, conversations, music (as if they were singing at the foot of the bed!!) But we didn't mind because we knew it wouldn't last too long. Sure enough shortly afterward the band played the national athemn, we were very glad to hear it (and even sang along)! Lights out, good nights sleep had.
Went down to dining room for breakfast the following morning, again chilly in there. Didn't have big breakfast, eggs and toast and then we left. It was €50 for both of us which to us was absolutely fine. The hotel served us well, it was clean and the staff friendly, food was nice. If I was visiting family again, I would stay in Brosna Hotel again, I wouldn't recommend it if you were looking for a quiet night however.

Myself and my husband had lunch here today. Food excellent and very reasonably priced - 3 course meals for €19.95. Portions were large and my husband, who often complains about small portions, was full and happy on leaving. Staff very pleasant, helpful and courteous and the atmosphere was lovely. Eoin, the new owner was on hand to welcome his guests and have a friendly chat. Definitely worth visiting if you want excellent food.

Cold uncomfortable dirty and very unfriendly extremely noisy in to the small hours of the morning and most expensive for the bad manners to the very cold rooms to insects on the bathroom floor but on the plus side the local newsagent Kelly's where very friendly and good mannered as where the staff at the local super value so well done Kelly's and super value your kindness and respect towards your customers didn't go unnoticed may be if you have some spare time you might teach the staff and proprietary at the Brosna lodge some of your people skills.thank you.

A victim of a decline in tourism to the area yet it holds its own and value for money. Like a lot of places in Ireland now needs some modernisation but this is reflected in the price and more than made up for in the characters that work there and who provide a unique atmosphere which is priceless, Oh and the breakfast let's just say I hope ya haven't eaten the night before cause you will not go hungry. My advice pay a little less for your room and buy an extra few pints and sing a song or two.....

My husband and I spent last weekend here. Before we entered the hotel another guest told us all the staff were very friendly and we found this to be true throughout our stay. We were in the Trollope Suite and it was lovely and spacious and had been upgraded recently. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

We ate in the bar on our first night and it was lovely, very generous portions and very good value. We had a four course dinner on our second night and it was delicious. Breakfast was cooked to order so no complaints.

Night Owls played in the bar on the Saturday night and they were excellent, there was a great buzz.

Banagher is a very friendly town, everyone we passed when out walking said hello.

I can happily recommend the Brosna Lodge for anyone visiting the area.

As we passed through Banagher we happened upon The Brosna Lodge. The roaring fire and even warmer welcome was refreshing and frankly rare in this day and age! The food, team and atmosphere was lovely and when we pass through again we will be back!
