Enjoy your stay in Banagher!
We visited Banagher with the family to spend some time where my wife's mother was born, it was a very emotional visit and whilst there we had a very special task which was done with love. We were lucky to have found the hotel on the Internet and it was a lovely spir, three large family rooms all spic and span, the breakfast was superb, Maury and family including Skye looked after us so it was was a very pleasant stay. We will be back.xx
Dun Cromain is a gem in the heartlands of Ireland. The owners, Maura and Peter, are unbelievable hosts and amplify the comfortable accommodations and the daily outstanding Full Irish breakfasts. Dun Cromain epitomizes the warmth, friendliness and cheerfulness of the Irish heartlands, in general , and Banagher, in particular. If you are cruising the Shannon River or doing day trips by car, Dun Cromain is an unbelievable haven to rest your bones for a night or an extended stay. These comments are from a very satisfied repeat and future customer.
Stayed with Maura for 2 nights while we walked the Gran Canal. We traveled by public transport and she collected us and dropped us off at our walking points. Breakfast was excellant and the room very comfortable
We spent a week here. We chose it because it had good reviews and was in easy reach of a few places we wanted to go. We were late arriving because we got lost but were greeted with a cup of tea and home-made scone so felt welcome from the start. Our room was enormous and very clean. There was no traffic noise and I slept really well which I don't normally do. Breakfast was better than we have had in some hotels and kept us going for several hours. The house is a 10 minute stroll from the town, where there's a supermarket, cafes, pub food and a couple of take-aways, not to mention music at the weekend. Part of the walk to town is in absolute darkness and the stars were amazing. Tea and coffee was available in the dining room and there's a small fridge for guest use. We'd definitely stay here again.…
Just returned from a 6 night stay at Dun Cromain and loved it. Huge thanks to Maura and family for making us so welcome and being so helpful. Lovely spacious room, very clean and fresh looking with comfortable bed. TV, Wifi, good sized bathroom and hot shower. Plenty of choice for breakfast, would highly recommend the full Irish !! Situated in a very peaceful spot with lovely gardens and only a short crawl into town to shops and a couple of great pubs. All in all, a fab stay in very friendly accommodation, the hubby and I look forward to returning. Thanks again !!
Maura, makes a delightful breakfast, the rooms are very large and could hold an entire family without feeling cramped. Easy access in and out of town, wifi works well and is of useable speed. We have found our "go to" place when coming to Banagher or Burr.
Maura's warm welcome and the comfortable facilities combined to make my stay in Banagher a memorable one. Maura loaned me her own bicycle so that I could cycle amongst the nearby towns and villages at the pace that I sought. (I was wanting to experience the slower pace of life that my forebears might have known.) I would recommend this generous home to all travellers. Mary Daley, Melbourne.
We only stayed in this little homey bed and breakfast for one night, but our rooms (and bathrooms) were spotless, the beds comfortable, the breakfast fantastic, and our Host pleasant and kind. It is out in the country a bit, so there was no traffic noise, but it was close enough to a little town that going out for supper wasn't a problem.
I stayed here early October last year, absolutely loved the place. From the moment we stepped into the house we were made feel like part of the family. The host knew every little thing about the town, I believe they have been there all their lives. They even knew a lovely 4 mile run that I could take to shake off the cobwebs (there was no way it was only 4 miles... but it was a country mile apparently) The room was lovely and cosy, there were 3 of us in a room and we all had plenty of space without over crowding each other. The breakfast was tastey, the fruit I had each morning was so fresh, you could tell they took pride in their home, and wanted you to be part of it. Banagher itself was great! Had a great time there and such a laugh when we attempted to canoe. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Maura for making us feel at home. We will definitely be back again... maybe over the summer. …
I have only started to use Tripadvisor and I had to come and review this little gem in Banagher! Cosey, comfortable and great location! Had a great nights stay and will certainly be back! Lovely breakfast and a cracking cup of coffee! See you again soon!!
