Ideal place to stay if you have just flown in to Edinburgh Airport. Situated next to the canal, which is delightful. Boutique excellent food and good house wine. Choose the Pancakes and the Scrabled Eggs with three sorts of Salmon. Sister Inn to the ship in Elie Fife which has a fab view over the harbour and glorious sands.

Visit regularly when in Ratho and it doesn't ever disappoint. The food is lovely and I have not had a bad meal here. My favourites are the deer and the pie of the day, always good. Nice selection of ales usually on alongside some decent lagers. Dogs are welcome which helps and they bring a bowl of water for thirsty...

Had a lovely lunch with friends. Ordered the Sunday roast which was roast pork. Delicious! Friendly attentive staff and the surroundings was very pretty. The apple and pear crumble was nicely presented and was very tasty. Will come back again.

What a fab evening it turned out to be... sipping gin, while afloat on a sunny evening, on a barge in the Union Canal. All organised by the Bridge Inn; the staff went the extra mile to welcome us and ensure we experienced a variety of gins and cocktails. Will definitely go along to future events like this.

Good evening, Thanks for taking the time to write this great review. The gin tasting was a blast, we loved hosting it. The next big event on the barge will be our cocktail launch in June. Hopefully it will help us market this wonderful floating dining space, for guest to hire for any occasion. See you soon, Jackie Fergus

I have been meaning to write this review for a few days after a fantastic meal at the Bridge Inn on Easter Sunday. The food was delicious, hearty and beautifully presented and for the second time we were looked after by the staff. After arriving almost 2 hours later than we said we would (and after the kitchen had closed) the manager at this fab inn quickly rustled up two delicious sandwiches with a side of fries and then refused to charge us because we 'couldn't choose our dinner'!! Old school, phenomenal service... 👍👍 Oh and the bedroom was super comfortable, clean and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in a stunning and picturesque setting on the banks of the Union Canal, the Bridge Inn is a unique pub and restaurant. The Bridge Inn is a wonderful place to visit, to taste some of our freshly cooked food, try some cask ales or sample from our expanding wine list, and enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere and welcome. Wherever possible we use seasonal, Scottish, fresh, local produce, and everything is freshly prepared. We grow our own herbs and vegetables in a walled garden slightly along the canal from the pub. We have a small herd of saddleback pigs, and our menus often feature delicious home-produced pork on the menu. We use locally-shot game when it is in season. We always have a range of cask ales from breweries which we know throughout Scotland. We have had lots of fun selecting our wine list, which we have tried to make one of the best value wine lists in Scotland. And we currently have on a selection of over 20 single malts from around this beautiful country. We have now finished an ambitious renovation project that has transformed the Bridge Inn. We have created an atmospheric country pub in the 18th century part of the building with open fires and comfortable seating. We have altered the upstairs to create 4 beautiful and unique en-suite bedrooms. They each have a different feel, but each has its own view of the canal and surrounding countryside. The Bridge Inn won Best B & B by Visit Scotland's Thistle Awards for the East of Scotland. Finally our bistro alongside the canal has been upgraded and we have added a terrace alongside the building to make the most of our unique setting. ... more   less
