This lovely, family-run hotel is an absolute gem. Located at a lake, outside of the city, perfect place to stay for a weekend away trip for those who prefer to relax surrounded by the nature. I stayed there for three nights with a couple of friends. The while place was spotless. Staff were very friendly and helpful, going the extra...

When we were shown our room I was in shock; it was absolutely gigantic - it was more of a studio or apartment! We actually had to go check they'd put us in the correct room (they had!). Everything was clean and tidy and posh. There were big windows with a wonderful view of the lake and mountain in the...

This hotel is a hidden secret - a gem. You feel like you're staying at a friend's home but they leave you alone and come to you only when needed. And they serve delicious buffet breakfast and dinner that had local Icelandic flavor. I love the lounge room where every window has a lake view. And it feels like your...

Hotel Kriunes is truly a gem. We arrived on the 6:30 a.m. redeye from Denver, way too early to check in. However,...

Of all the hotels/guesthouses we've experienced in Iceland, this one was the best. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, the breakfast was superb and the view from the lounge is incredible. It's a bit outside of Reykjavik, but at the same time it is very calm and quiet.

Myself and my husband stayed here at the end of March, hoping very much to see the Northern Lights. The hotel is wonderful, beautifully decorated and very cosy. The hotel is situated in picturesque surrounds just on the outskirts of Reykjavik and the scenery surrounding is spectacular. The food served at the buffet dinner and breakfast is delicious, home cooked...
