Sol y Mar is one of the nicest hotels in SC. The rooms are spacious and clean and comfortable. Breakfast included is yummy! Luis is the owner and he is really helpful to his guests. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and helpful. There is a nice long walk up a hill to get to the restaurant...

Big rooms in a stunning setting. We had a car and a confident driver so we were able to get up to the pool/restaurant. A bit of stairs if you don't though. The pool had an amazing view of the ocean, although definitely needs new tile work. The rooms were spacious and clean and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast...

I booked three months prior to my arrival with Louis; the owner of Hotel Sol y Mar in Santa Catalina for one night and gave him my credit card information and he told me I had the room. I drove 5 hours from Panama City and arrived at Sol y Mar about 5:30pm and was told that he did not...

Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and omelette cooked right on the spot. Awesome pool area where you can enjoy the view of the ocean. Powerful a/c in room. Hammoks and longchairs. Shops and restaurants are at a walkable distance. Staff is nice and very helpful even for the excursions. WiFi never actually worked. The closest beach is a good 5...

My wife and I visited this hotel for a quick 2 day diving trip. It was recommended by the dive operator. After checking it out on T/A we thought, great let's go ahead. Was easy to find on way into Santa Catalina. Arrived and had to go looking for someone to check us in. This involved climbing about 200' up...

When we got to the hotel we were a bit hesitant as the bottom buildings arent much to look at, but we were pleasantly surprised when we went up the stairs! The rooms are beautiful and newly renovated and the pool at the very top is a perfect way to end the day. The beach in Santa Catalina isnt amazing, so...

My family and I have been to Santa Catalina a few times now but this was our first stay at Sol y Mar. In my opinion, this is the best place to stay in the area. The views are incredible, the pool is great and the breakfasts are delicious. If you want to be surfing all the time then you...

Don't expect a 5-star hotel, but rooms are clean, there is AC and a swimming pool. The view from the restaurant is great (after climbing the 110 stairs). It is a bit outside of town and therefore quiet.
