I stayed at the Saaremaa Hotell for five nights in July 2021 with my husband and two sons. We had a family room that consisted of two bedrooms and a bathroom. The rooms were basic, particularly the kids’ bedroom. It was up a steep flight of stairs from the main room and furnished only with two single beds, a desk and chairs and a small wardrobe. All were the cheapest kind of furniture. The air got very stuffy and hot up there to the point where the boys had trouble sleeping. Opening one of the small windows didn’t really help and there was no A/C. We didn’t have this problem in the downstairs bedroom and the furniture was a little nicer, though the only amenities provided were a flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The staff weren’t very friendly. Not saying they were rude, just unsmiling and unwilling or unable to speak much English. The rooms are only cleaned upon request. We requested it once during our stay and the room was cleaned and towels exchanged, but the empty soap dispensers in the bathroom weren’t refilled. We had to go back to reception to ask for soap. Breakfast was buffet style but choices were very limited. I actually thought breakfast was good the first morning, but it deteriorated from then on. There were two kinds of bread and croissants the first morning – it was just the bread after that, and some very dry cake. The bread was a little stale on some days – I think they only get fresh bread every second day or so. There were always scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages, fresh fruit, cereals, cold cuts, cheese and jam. On the first day, they also had some nice salads like egg salad, but these were successively exchanged for herring dishes – pickled, salted and whatnot. In the end there were four different kinds of herring dish. A little too herring-centered for my liking! They only had regular filter coffee, no cappuccinos or such. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant once and never again. The menu was very short and the food was overpriced and not very good. We chose to drive to Kuressaare the next four nights. What we really liked about the hotel were the surroundings and the playground. The hotel is surrounded by pine forests and only a few steps away from a beautiful beach. The sea was warmer than we expected and the beach was never crowded. The hotel’s ship shape playground was great fun for our six-year-old. We did enjoy our stay overall but would probably not come back or if we did would book two double rooms instead of a family room.…
Really great place to stay near Kuressaare. Sea is near, air is good. Breakfast is fine, rooms are normal. Forest is great for walking near hotel. perfect place for vacation and training. Was here also in May - same feeling.
with that hotel. Its ideally positioned on the beach ,and a size is OK, but... No pool at all (SPA hotel ???) ,saunas are NOT included , restaurant opens at 18.00 (and menu is too short). Asked before (via email ) for a second floor room with double bed ,but was given standard twin on a first floor ...Abandoned tennis court and volleyball court . So-so breakfast ,TV with just 12 channels. Spartan ,but pricey rooms. As a result - at high season - a half-empty hotel...
Situated on a beautiful beach and surrounded by pine forests. Breakfast was below average, all we ate was good but variety of dishes was poor. Reception personnel was friendly and helpful. The hotel building itself is well designed for hotel use. Hotel rooms and facilities are very clean but maybe a bit old fashioned. We needed a place to sleep and for that purpose this hotel was perfect. I recommend to visit this place during high season in the summer.
It was our first visit of Saaremaa island. We came with 2 kids. Hotel is owned by an Estonian family - so you can feel a family stay and a very friendly atmosphere from your very first step. The beach is nearby, clear air is all around , healthy breath is what you get . Hotel is deep in the pine trees forest. Unique point is the spa !!! A lot of programs for ladies, gents and even kids! A real thai massage with real thai therapists. A salt chamber - the only one on the island: during 1 hour you fall asleep in a salt surrounding- it is very good for immune system! I came with my naughty kids - they really fall asleep and asked me to come back one more time. The food on the breakfast is good with local taste. Another restaurant that works 13-22:00 offers a good variety of European food on affordable price. Kids are also welcome - they can enjoy kids playground, special ice cream and very welcome treat! By the way there are very good duplex rooms for families with up to 2 kids: parents sleep on the 1st floor, kids on th 2d. City is just 15 minutes drive. So I highly recommend this hotel for everybody! We will come back next year for sure!…
Was here as part of an Estonian Government organised trip to Saaremaa. Liked the rooms which spacious and very clean. Enjoyed the food which was excellent. Particularly impressed by the owner who was highly visible and making sure his guests were being well catered for.
We stayed at the Hotel on a group bike trip. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The beach is just a short distance away. The food was excellent. The bar service was very good. The spa is a gem and well worth visiting. This Hotel is strongly recommended .
The place is beautiful. Silence and peace, nature and colors are key words. The staff at the hotel are helpful, efficent and gentle. Meet the chef, Marylin: she is all smiles and will make you taste great food . She knows how to welcome people, and make them feel at home. As well as all the rest of the staff at the hotel.
Very nice Hotel!! But very secluded!!! The beach is nice and a good view. Service is fantastic and the restaurant serves great dishes. Hotel also has a spa and offers massages. Didn't try, but others stated the massages were very nice.
