We booked the smugglers in for one night because of its proximity to the airport. They deducted the price of the room around £82 the day before we were due to stay otherwise we would have looked elsewhere once we had seen it. We were shocked by the poor standard of cleanliness and the general rundown appearance of the hotel....

Very over priced for £80 had a cat come in the dining area not very hygienic , no soap in the dispenser and a friend of mine who was also staying in a different room had exactly the same would have thought that new ones could be bought at the price they charge for a room . Seal / border...

Well there's good news and bad news. Let's do the good first. Our primary reason for choosing this hotel is they allow Dogs to stay. That's a big plus for dog owners. It's fairly easy to find. Don't be fooled by the blurb when they say about Newquay Airport. The fact is it's not quiet close, it's directly over the...

Really nice people. Made us welcome. Very relaxed atmosphere. Rooms clean and very quiet. Beds very comfortable. No aircraft noise heard and no night flights. Early bird evening meals(1730) good value and tasty. Breakfast enjoyable and sufficient. Just 5 minute walk to airport. Would definitely use again.

Travelling as a family we had a 4 day trip to Cornwall to see the sights. Stayed at Smugglers Inn which is a privately owned hostel managed by the owners. Received warm welcome and shown to our clean, tidy room with shower, TV, very comfortable bed and tea making facilities. Smugglers Inn serves a very decent cooked breakfast and has...

John and Rod are very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and presentable with a nice large bright and airy bathroom. Slept with room windows open no noise even though it's by the airport a lovely view over the valley from Dunlin room towards St Eval. We stayed to visit Cornwalls holy wells and conveniently found St James's well...

Visited here during the busy Boardmasters weekend as opposed to travelling into Newquay centre. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and polite. The inn is very comfortable and relaxing; very much enjoyed sitting in the conservatory and outside whilst the weather was nice. Would definitely recommend and would return here when visiting Newquay again

Had lots of lovely tasty meals here, including Sunday lunch. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners & staff. Will definitely return next year. Thank you from The Cook family & Frank the Bulldog

The owners are always incredibly friendly and helpful and the food is always very tasty. Highly recommend a visit. Easy to find and there is an outdoor area. Visited once with a severely disabled child and the staff were incredibly helpful. Very reasonably priced as well. Looking forward to my next roast already!

I am happy when I can write a positive review about a hotel, but sometimes it is important to be honest and let others know if there are deficiencies. In short the Smugglers Inn at Newquay Airport was simply not worth the money. Sadly there were many things lacking that one would ordinarily expect for the price... no soap or...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small hotel/B&B just 2 minutes walk from Newquay Airport, providing accommodation for business and holiday customers. We offer good food and drinks to residents and non residents. We are but a 5 minute drive from Watergate Bay (home of Jamie Oliver's Fifteen) and Mawgan Porth, and just 10 minutes from the A30, and from Newquay & 20 minutes from Padstow. We are about 30 mins from Eden Project, and within easy reach of all of Cornwall's attractions. We are on the Western Greyhound 556 route which links the airport and the train station in Newquay to Padstow and many places in between. We are also just 6 or 7 minutes from St Column Major where the National Express coaches pull in. So all in all we can boast about being pretty central for most of Cornwall. ... more   less
