Lutz (the boss) and her Laotian wife were the perfect hosts ! he's very welcoming and likes talking to his guests. This place is a little paradise to chill out, the bungalows are well furbished and offer a beautiful view over the Mekong river, the buffalos like swimming in front of you. It looks like a postcard :) The restaurant...

Great and clean bungalows with fan. We stayed there for four nights and enjoyed it a lot. It's a great place to get a rest after some exhausting time of travelling. The beds are comfy and every bungalow has its own verandah with two hammocks facing the mekong. staff was very helpful. The restaurant serves great laotian, thai and german...

Coming back to Mama Leuah Guesthouse after 7 year, I was relieved that not much has changed. The bungalows are cosy and very clean, the food is still by far the best on the island, the atmosphere is totally chillaxed and the lovely owners make you really feel at home far away from home. Don’t even try to find a...

Stayed here for 5 days on our 18 month trip. If we hadn't plans in Cambodia could have stayed another week easily. Didn't eat anywhere else - food and service were excellent and well needed after 2 months in Asia pointing and making animal noises. Yes you can find accommodation for half the price further along the river but it...

I'm not really sure I have the words to describe the charm of this place. The bungalows are basic but comfortable with great hammocks. The sunrise views are just spectacular. And waking to see water buffalo swimming next to you is something I will never forget. Now on to Lutz and Peng, two of the nicest people you could ever...

The room is in a small bungalow, in front of the river. You have hammoc to chill. The bed is clean and you have private bathroom. The only bad point is the Cold water but it's ok, Don Det is hot place 😉

Was very good. Had a veggie burger and dumplings, wine and beer. Lutz was very friendly and the Atmosphere was great, sitting on the terrace next to the river. Was one of the best meals we had in laos.

We spent 10 days in this guesthouse and we immediately fell in love with this place, first of all thanks to the kindness of the family who run the guesthouse. Great atmosphere, super tasty food, exceptional service. This is a gem on Don Det. Very quiet place, the next guest house is a walk away , hence you have your privacy here. We loved it here, stayed 6 nights and ate here every day.
