Booked a holiday for Lyon and after reading the reviews for this hotel I thought it would be a suitable stay however, i was wrong. I booked for a 7 night stay, but after the 5th night I had enough and booked elsewhere in the centre of Lyon for the remaining 2 nights. The staff were not helpful and highly rude whenever we had any queries. Our room was not re supplied once with clean towels, toilet roll, soaps, coffees etc. We had to ask for all of these everyday (which they were reluctant to give us) and this is unacceptable when paying over £100 per night. Due to them not cleaning the room or emptying the bins at all, we moved all our stuff to another room - however this room had a broken shower. After this, we tried to make a complaint and one of the members of staff named Lena laughed at us when we asked to speak to the manager and started speaking french to another member of staff and laughing again. We then decided to leave and they tried to make us pay for the full 7 nights and refused to give us a honest discount for the appalling stay - which is a disgrace. I would not recommend this to anyone staying over 1 night as they don’t care about your welfare, and I will never go back again. Overall Cons: 1. Majority of staff towards English are rude and unhelpful 2. No clean supplies throughout the week 3. Broken shower and broken fridge. 4. Overpriced 5. Failed to meet the basic needs of a consumer. Pros: 1. Ok location if you have a car, but I would recommend having your dinner in the city centre rather than near the hotel. In summary the hotel was a huge disappointment, however I spent most of my time exploring Lyon throughout the day so luckily I didn’t spend my time in the hotel.…
I stayed overnight here between dropping my rental car at Lyon airport (LYS) in the evening and flying from LYS next morning. This hotel came up when I searched for an Accord hotel near LYS and it has a week-day for-pay shuttle service. (It's a 15-minute drive in good traffic.) When I arrived at the hotel it was deserted. No one. No music, Nothing. I rang the bell at reception several times but it took 10 minutes for someone to arrive and check me in. By the time he arrived, there were three of us waiting. I had been advised by e-mail that the hotel restaurant was closed that night and I asked for options. I was told there was a restaurant 5 minutes away by car (I didn't didn't have one), McDonald's 100m away, or a cold plate at the bar. It was raining hard so I had the cold plate (which was quite good) with my complimentary glass of wine. The room was very comfortable and I slept well. I had asked for a taxi to be ordered for 0830 next morning, but when I went to the lobby at 0820 it had not been ordered. t was Sunday morning and several taxi companies could not provide a car. I eventually made it to LYS in time for my flight but this was far from my best Mercure experience.…
Very nice customer service did not hv problem to talk in english rooms are ok standard to the stars Breakfast was on time very good and intercontinental I was pretty happy for this short stay just one night
The hotel matches the standards of the Accord network. A good mark for the restaurant where we had dinner: “tartelette de brocolis et gambas flambées”, “tartare de boeuf”, “dos de cabillaud au lait de coco”, “café gourmand”. Everything fine with only some reservation towards the “tournedos de rumsteck Montana” which requested some chewing. On the wine list, most of the “reds” are overpriced. At reasonable price, choose the “Côtes du Rhône” or the “Côtes du Roussilon”. Also, to notice that the bar offers a selection of beers locally brewed although it is still regrettable that no alcohol-free beer is available.
The lobby area is very nice and clean with lots of space to work with a nice selection of drinks. They did try and put me into a room with two single beds despite paying for a double but eventually they did move me. They had turned the aircon off in the rooms which made them stuffy during the day. The room was very clean and modern. The dinner at the hotel was OK, nothing exceptional. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of food available.
Everything was fine. Easy incheck, fine room, bathroom clean and frech. Bar and resturang exelent service and meny. The food perfect made. Parking outsider and indoor garage. Good for cars whit holiday stoff.
Climate in the room not ok, too hot to sleep comfortably, and impossible to lower the temperature. I ended up opening the window, but then there was too much noise from traffic. On the other hand no warm water in the shower (boiler breakdown) one morning (still no warm water in the evening). Restaurant ok, wines mediocre. Ideally located to go to the conference centre Eurexpo.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night on our European road trip. The hotel is situated conveniently off the motorway and has secure, underground parking. Our room was very large and very clean. We had a lovely view from our room and the air con was effective. The room was very modern, we felt we got a lot for the price we paid for this room. We found that our TV didn’t work, and on contacting reception, somebody came to resolve the issue promptly. Despite the reception staff being very nice, we weren’t impressed with the service in the restaurant at all. The 2 women serving just didn’t seem bothered with us! We seemed to be the only English people in the restaurant, and although I can speak enough French to get by, I couldn’t confidently translate the menu. I asked the waitress to help us translate, to which she replied she would be back in a minute. She never came back, and we took to google translator to help us. Our starter was nice, however the main was not impressive; a very tough, flavourless steak. I had to ask for the bill 3 times, and each time the lady said she would bring it to us. After waiting for a long time, I asked for the bill at the desk, to which I was told “in a moment”. I demanded the bill there and then, which was finally given to me! Despite this, we really liked the hotel itself and would recommend it for people in the area. Just avoid the restaurant - food was okay but the staff were not!! …
Staff were very considerate , room was clean and neat and food was good. Hotel had some games in the lobby and was very entertaining. Would recommend this hotel for any one needing to be near the airport.
A mercure is a mercure, the location is important and the design as well. This hotel is very different the design is cool well though off, except the lifting in the restaurant too bright at dinner time. But here the staff is extremely friendly from the reception team, to the restaurant team from the hostess, the waitress to the wine Maitre D they are all spot on. Congratulations to the GM or owner well done. I will certainly never go back there as it is not my district but I will always remember the team.
