We spent a week in this hotel and were very satisfied. You have to know that the hotel is located in an office area. There is nothing around it! The nearest shop to buy anything is about 1.2km away. The nearest train station is 800m away and there is a small bar/restaurant right next to the hotel, but it is closed at weekends. We were satisfied with the room, the breakfast, the service and the internet. The small bar next door invites you for a drink or a meal. Only the room cleaning could be a bit better. But basically the room was clean.
no air. in 2022 what hotel does not have air? this one. my surprise when i called down to find out how to turn it on.... breakfast is ok, but no eggs, they have frankfurters, cheese, bread and cereal. they use a capture for internet. i could not get windows to connect, ipad worked ok. parking is free.
We stayed here for 3 nights, everything was perfect, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and quiet, food was good too. Would surely recommend. Cleanliness 5/5, Wifi 4/5, Staff 5/5, Food 4/5. Loved our stay, will visit again! :)
good location just 10-15 minutes to train station, take 30 to centre of Barcelona. I can use the T-10 ticket for group of my family just stamp multiple time for each of the people. breakfast is great.
The hotel itself is decent. The room is fine, the staff is nice, the breakfast is ok, the parking is ok. It's a solid hotel really, but I have stayed at this one, and the other holiday inn express in barcelona, and BOTH times a loud noise/message has blared out from this in-room speaker mounted up on the wall. Once during the afternoon while I was resting, and the other time at night (1am) after I had fallen asleep. I nearly had a heart attack from the sudden burst of noise. They really need to fix this.
This hotel has o.k breakfast, not fancy. It is good tor business people that come to the area. It is a bad location for tourists. It is 40 minutes from plaza Catalonia. The hotel has no pool or spa and there is nothing to do in the area at night.
Im an IHG member, made reservation thru their website, I showed up at noon after traveling for over 24 hrs... front desk said they would not let me check in till after 3pm eventhough their website says its 2pm.. not good... If I had known I would have search another hotel
It was a last minute plan and as usual i had 48hours to book a hotel as it was also Orthodox Easter weekend. Barcelona was 96% booked in the central city. We wanted a strategic hotel location with good budget. Found the Holiday Inn Express. What went well 1. Hotel is 30min away from central Barcelona, Plaza Catanunya 2. Hotel is outside city, surrounded by green environment. We enjoyed walking 500m to the train station, surrounded by nice scenery 3. Extremely clean & tip top hotel room condition. We had a sofa bed for our toddler and a big bed for us. 4. Good breakfast - spanish omelette, boiled eggs, bread, pastries, almond tart, fruits, coffee, tea, juices, cold meat 5. Value for money 6. Take the S2 train straight to Plaza C for sightseeing. Also to the airport, you catch a bus straight to the airport. Cheap and efficient 7. From the airport, take a bus to the central. From the central, take S2 bus to the hotel What can be better 1. Hotel should indicate which bus or train to take to the hotel from the airport. This was unclear 2. Breakfast traffic management - allocate a supervisor to manage traffic and food availability. You cannot have your kitchen crew to manage kitchen and outside. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.…
First of all I can’t praise the staff highly enough, friendly, polite and helpful and they deserve credit before I continue. I knew it was in the middle of nowhere before I booked, it’s a 10 minute stroll to the station and that’s the most exciting thing for miles around! I’d requested a double bed but was assigned 2 singles. I arrived on Easter Sunday, I’d done my research and was aware nothing at all would be open till Tuesday. What I hadn’t expected was no food served what so ever in the evening at the hotel and this to my surprise didn’t change when the Easter weekend had finished! They have a takeaway pizza menu in your room which i had no choice but to use 2 days running as if I hadn’t I’d have eaten nothing, at all. Breakfast is free for a reason, it’s toast, ham, cheese and cereal. That’s it excluding some small pastries. Even the jam crumbles as you try and spread it. Woeful. The room itself was cleaned every day but no safe, no fridge and nothing else. I just about hacked 5 nights here but next time I’ll pay the extra (out of my own pocket and I’m not joking) and stay in the Marriot up the road. I still can’t get my head over the open plan restaurant being closed all day, every day apart from breakfast time. What a waste considering there is NO COMPETITION for MILES.…
This Holiday Inn Express is located very near the railway station with each 10 minutes a train to Placa de Calalunya, Barcelona. Don't expect more then it is, a basic good hotel with a standard but good and fresh breakfast, basic dinner and lunch dishes on call and delivered in your room, a clean room with one good queen size bed or two good single beds, free Wi-Fi, stable and fast enough for work or mails, a flat screen TV on the wall, a good clean bath room with wc, sink and bath tube. In the room there are a wardrobe, coffee and tea facilities. Air-conditioned. The staff is very helpful and friendly. At 50 meter distance is a little restaurant, open from 8 am till 11 pm. They serve simple but good food and beverages. We book often and with pleasure HIE, worldwide, and this is one of the many good ones.…
