Amazing food, location, facilities, and staff. Cannot say enough how great the staff are, you really feel cared for and that they want you to succeed on your wellbeing journey. Four stars instead of five only because of serious spray resistant mosquitoes which affected my peace of mind. I would recommend all rooms to have anti mosquitoe plugs by default, this made all the difference once i requested it. I do think this is exceptional this summer in all of Andalucia. Aside from this negative, everything else was 5 stars. Even the bad weather doesn't last in this place.

I decided to go to this place after looking at the pictures and reading all the reviews to find out later that both are far from the actual reality. I got there after a 10-hour drive with hight hopes and thinking that I finally got to this "paradise". Here is my experience: - Location: In the woods and far from everything else. Not in the greens though, in a wooded area, dry and at some parts burnt, but quiet. - Reception and Check-In: the receptionist just wanted to do the basics of her job such as getting my documentation and nothing more. I asked her some simple questions, her response: "I sent you and email with attachments about all rules about this place, read it". Then she brought the obligatory "Wellcome drink". I asked her what is was. Her response: "ginger and some stuff, I don't know". I stated that I had a few heavy bags to bring up (in the front, there are around 20 stairs that take you up to the building), her response: "ok" and nothing more. So I went ahead and took all the bags up, only to find out later that there was a ramp behind the building, but the backdoor needed to be opened by the receptionist And I guess it wasn’t her favourite thing to do!!! so...overall very detached attitude rude behaviour. - Room: an average room in a 3 star hotel. nothing more, nothing special, nothing to remind you that are in a retreat or somewhere different than a 3-star hotel. Breakfast: average, every so called "freshly-made" item looked completely store-bought expect for the eggs. There was an artificial rock in the breakfast area with water circling around it to mimic a stream sound. Activities: basic activities that you can find in any spa, but all separately charged and way more than a spa. So, if you can rent a cottage in the woods and take a small water fountain with you, you don't need to spend so much money and be treat like sh... keep your sanity, dignity and hard earned money!

Thank you for this interesting review about our property. As I said repeatedly when speaking to you we were very sorry that we did not mention your expectations. We are very well known for clients leaving our retreat very very happy and that the staff goes out of their way to make a client happy. Location: We are in the middle of nature very as it Staes on our web "Hidden amongst the hills in an intimate setting", We are surrounded by woods, and countryside. If it is not as green as you expected this might be because it is the end of the summer and landscapes turn dry because we simply do not have rain in the summer. I spoke to the receptionist that did your check in and it is simply not true that she did not know what was in the welcome drink since she herself prepared it. This would never have been an answer. About your bags: Since your room was located in the downstairs gardens there was no need to bring the luggage up to reception. She definitely did not ignore your request, she just wanted you to not bring the luggage up and then have to take them down again. With the Covid regulations we are not allowed to touch the clients baggage for obvious reasons. None of our staff acts rude, that I can assure you! We sent a document before you arrived explaining clearly that we are not allowed to handle customers luggage. Room: The room we gave you was the last room we had and we explained to you the location and details about the room before you arrived. As a matter of fact we even gave you an upgrade to a one bedroom suite. All of our rooms and as a matter of fact the whole hotel is equipped with very luxurious furniture. If you think this is not worth more than a 3 star average hotel we have to accept this. But we never heard that from anybody else. Breakfast: I can assure you and can prove that our breakfast items are freshly made. We do not make the butter and jam but the rest is freshly made or freshly cut. Artificial Rock in the breakfast area: This is a fountain that is made of stone (Ball shaped) and not an artificial rock as you put it. And it is just a fountain! Again, We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us and hope that in the future you will find a more suitable place your needs.

I have just returned from a 6 night yoga retreat at Shanti Som and it was truly rejuvenating. If you're looking for somewhere nice and isolated for a last-minute break then this is the spot! The location is perfect - nestled in the mountains and lovely and peaceful. The staff are amazing - real attention to detail, kindness and thoughtfulness. The food was also incredible - even with my strict dietary restrictions - fresh ingredients prepared simply by people who really care about their guests. I loved the yoga - the three teachers were all very different but very good - Natalie in particular. I did the hike which was spectacular - highly recommend. The treatments were also very good. The whole place has a very positive, sunny atmosphere and seems to attract a crowd of caring, kind and thoughtful people. The communal table is a nice touch as it makes it easy to meet new people. I would highly recommend this hotel. And if you go I suggest you take some cash with you as they can't take card tips.

It was my first experience at Shanti Som mid Dec 2019 : amazing team where every staff members know your name, take care of you, and ensure that you feel happy and safe. Yoga sessions were intelligently customized so even beginners are not lost, meditation sessions and specific guidance are simply impressive and amazing. Same applies to great massages at the Spa. The restaurant is so great, tasty, and the staff at the restaurants are so caring and mindful addressing eventual allergies to make you feel ok. The green area / garden around the hotel is very relaxing / recharging. Special thanks for Nathalie who is extremely skilled and was just great, Aldona for the very usesul exchanges and Jana for her true kindness and professionalism. Will go back again without hesitation.
