We stayed here one night a year ago and loved it so much decided to book in for two nights this year so we could do more exploring of the area. The hotel is set just outside Honfleur, you do need a car. Parking is secure. Last year we had a family room which consisted of two rooms freshly painted and clean and tidy. This year we were allocated the old style, double bed down and two singles upstairs with bathroom under the stairs. The room was cramped, but clean and smokefree. We had a problem with either the toilet leaking or the shower leaking which meant water continually ran from beside the toilet and then made the floor very wet. We spoke to the manager who was a different person to last year and really was not interested. He spoke no english, we made many attempts to speak French, we also used Google translate to help. He always raised his eyes and pretended he didn't understand, from giving our room number at breakfast to the problem with the toilet. He just laughed when we asked to change rooms and yes I know this is a two star but we have stayed in many of this hotels chain and really felt unwelcome. Interestingly on the second day I was not feeling well and went back to the hotel early to lay down. A man knocked on the door and although he spoke french it was along the lines of he had come to fix the toilet. Because I was there he left and did not stay. After his visit and once my husband was back my husband went down to Reception to ask about the toilet. I do think the manager knew there was a problem but was not prepared to sort this out. Breakfast was an awful experience on day one. It was too crowded, not enough food to go round, hardly any jam and so on. Plastic cups for juice were everywhere. The floor was so sticky that everyone stuck to it and we just assumed juice had been spilt. The manager just walked around scowling. Day two was less hectic but the floor was the same, in the end someone did come and wash it. There were fresh croissants ready this time and new jam, but the damage was done. Yes great for one night but we definitely will not return.…
Clean, very friendly and helpful staff, great location! Definitely worth the $$! Less than five minutes drive to the Harbor, where there are restaurants and shops. Honfleur is an amazing little village.
This was a chosen hotel on a group tour. It was just an overnight stay but it was most acceptable. Room and bathroom were very neat and tidy, breakfast included was a pleasant surprise. It is situated quite a walk from the old core of Honfleur but it is worth it.
We stayed for one night although basic it was clean and comfortable. My husband had hurt both his legs they day before and he needed to rest so rather than go out to eat we asked if OK we ordered pizza in. I tried doing it online but couldn't so the lovely gentleman on reception phoned our order through. Breakfast was OK and we would stay again if in area.
Have stayed many times in the B&B chain of hotels. They are normally rated 2* and can vary a lot. This one deserves far more than 2*. On arrival the building is set back from the road with secure parking. The hotel seems very modern and up to date and freshly painted. Having checked in via the machine outside, we had reserved online in advance. Our room was on the second floor, there is no lift but the stairs were not steep or many. We had booked a family room for three adults with breakfast. Opening the door we found not the usual B&B layout but two rooms plus the bathroom. The main room had the bathroom off from it and a double bed, wardrobe and desk and then the second room contained two single beds and wardrobe, desk etc. Both big rooms. The air conditioning was touch screen and very efficient. The beds were very comfortable and the linen beautifully clean and fresh. The bathroom was the usual tiny B&B style which is always a little disappointing as there is never anywhere to put your things whilst showering, you have to be very organised. But the showers are great. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, our last morning in France for a while after a month away from home and we came down to the smell of fresh croissants and more going into the oven. Local bread was also available to cut and the usual B&B spread. The breakfast room was very clean . (Breakfast costs 6.15€ per adult as of Aug 18) The hotel is not situated in Honfleur but a tiny village called La Riviere Saint Sauveur only a few minutes away but you do need a car. The village itself is quaint but quiet. Honfleur was just beautiful. We found parking easily in the centre and it cost us 4.90€ for about 3-4 hours. We would happily return here. Do not let the 2* rating put you off.…
