This hotel has an old French charm about it. This was our second time visiting and the hotel did not disappoint. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and the dining room is very typically French. The stafff were very friendly and some English is spoken. The hotel is located in a quiet spa town located a short distance off the... More

We stayed three nights as it is only half an hour from Magny Cours racetrack. Hotel was fantastic. We opted for a large room with three single beds. Beds were comfy with great linens. Bathroom was small. Very clean and plenty of hot water. Parking straight out front. The restaurant was delightful and the food was incredible. Thank you to... More

Very well located hotel in this charming small spa town. It's unique selling points are the courtyard garden where we enjoyed aperitifs and after dinner coffee as well as breakfast and the small rooftop swimming pool.

This hotel is in a beautiful old building with a nice courtyard. They created a lovely little pool on top of a tower where you get a nice view on the ruins of the Bourbon castle. The rooms are high ceilinged, but could be a bit bigger. The restaurant serves very good meals and has a lovely wine list. The... More

We made 2 reservation at this hotel having had an excellent experience 2 years previously. This time, our visit on our way down to the south of France was disappointing. Our room was small, strangely shaped, with a view of a wall from the window and the noise of a banging door in the atrium below. We went down for a... More

During our road trip through France we ended up here. This hotel looks like it is the best this city has to offer. The room was clean but looked a bit old. Breakfast is served in a separate building in the garden, but wsa a bit meager. The rooftop swimming pool is OK

Twenty five years ago, as a young couple, we asked about a room at the Talleyrand. The gentleman in reception very kindly found us his cheapest room and made us extremely welcome. The room was very comfortable and peaceful.. The restaurant was excellent, with charming, friendly service. We enjoyed the duck with special sauce and the venison stew. This summer... More

We just love this hotel. Recently returned from our second visit and already looking forward to our third..and fourth..and... In a hotel, so much depends upon the owners and these are the best - welcoming, charming, efficient and helpful. Set in a rather sleepy, unspoilt and definitely un-touristy little town, this hotel is full of charm with a pretty garden,... More

We stayed here a a couple six years ago when touring France in an open top car and thought it a high spot of our trip. We stopped off this time for three nights with two grand children aged 9 & 11 in a two bedroom suit which was very nice except there was a football team practicing all night... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The name "Grand Hotel Montespan Talleyrand" tells an important part of the history of the 16th and 17th centuries. Today however, the building offers contemporary comfort, allowing you to take a breath of fresh air in the French-style interior garden. Some pleasant rooms offer a view over the garden and you can relax at the swimming pool with view on the Dukes of Bourbon chateau. Enjoy the art of living: a blend of gastronomic regional pleasures with fitness and vitality activities, a discovery of the benefits of thermal treatments (hotel directly connected to the Spa) or a visit of the surrounding vineyards. ... more   less
