The hotel looks lovely outside but everything else is downhill. My main complaint is the food, breakfast was very poor but the dinner was terrible, the last night I didn't even bother to eat even though it was included in the price. The staff were just going through the motions, breakfast was supposed to be from 7:00am but it was late 2 out of 3 times. The room was okay but basic, heating worked fine and shower drain seemed blocked as the water backed up in the tray. I was looking forward to staying here as it does look spectacular but in the end I couldn't leave quick enough Sorry.
The location of this place is stunning: surrounded by nature, right in front of a beautiful lake and 3’ minutes walk to waterfall. The hotel itself is vintage offering a bast of activities such aa wellness, gym, billiard and ping pong. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Food was delicious and they offer a good selection of drinks at their Lobby Bar. The highlight was the professional and friendliness of the staff. We will definitely go back, we had an amazing stay.
We have spent 2 nights/3 days , family with a 12 years old girl. The hotel has an amazing location, surrounded with green forest, a great lake, and a really quiet atmosphere. It is a historical building/palace with great interior spaces. It has a spacious paid parking lot. Rooms size was ok, spotless clean, good service. Food was enough and varied but on the lower end of a 4 star hotel. There is wellness facility too with 2 pools - for swimming and relax - , there are beauty facilities too, an indoor ping pong table and a few cardio machines too. The location is a quiet place just good for relaxing.
The location of the hotel is excellent, make sure to ask for a room with view and balcony if you visit it. The food was average, the drinks had a strange pricing. Our room was renovated but still the old window could not be closed so we had to move in the evening... The spa area was the usual what is offered at 3-4 star hotels which are not famous of their wellness area.
It is a beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings. Breakfast and supper including in the price and both were delicious, with big selection. Has some pools, sauna, small gym, ping pong, all free to use. Parking in the back of the hotel for a cheap price. We loved it.
The best thing about this hotel is the location and the amazing view. I would highlight 2 staff members, 1 night receptionist lady on our first night and a man who recommended us some programs and what to see nearby. During the check-in we mentioned, we came here to celebrate our first anniversary. When we entered to our room we got a surprise room amenity, we thought this is a nice gesture to make our stay more enjoyable. Well, it was a big disappointment because upon check out they charged these amenities to our room, what we did not even ask and if we were aware that we need to pay for that, we would not ask. The reception staff’ knowledge is below avarage because we received wrong information about the cave tour. We were advised there is a tour in every hour but during the winter season it was only once per day, so we went to the cave once for nothing. Upon check out the receptionist lady even did not bother herself just to ask us how was our stay, which I would expect from a 4* hotel, I think i had too much expectations…. In the last night, the host in the restaurant told us to go to the reception, if we have time after dinner because tomorrow there will be a conference. If you want us to leave the room early, this is not the way to handle guests. The breakfast and dinner was okay, nothing special, like i went to an avarage level restaurant, no specialities, nothing just ordinary food. The housekeeping is also not the best, previously who stayed in our room was smoking in the balcony and a cup with butts was left there. Also I saw some hairs in the bathroom. In my opinion I would never come back to this hotel, even not recommend to anyone with such service level. This hotel is so overpriced and I felt a bit waste of money.…
Beautiful castle from the beginning of the last century in a wonderful surrounding. Nice, comfortable, clean, well equipped room with good panoramic view. Small but good wellness center, massage, and many things to do inside and outside. Quite tasty food with good wine card, breakfast could be better. Amazing nature, parks, flower gardens, caves, waterfall, chairlift, train in the forest and huge lake. Perfect place to have a walking/resting holiday.
Hotel is closed to the most beautiful waterfall of Hungary, fabulous. Nice hotel with warm interior. At the reception desk the staff is professionel. We had also some problems with some waiters = not reached the 4 star category. Enough choice for breakfast , dinner. Confortable rooms.
The receptionist provided a great mini-suite with fantastic view to the manicured french garden. The wellness part has ton of saunas, large jacuzzi pool and relaxing benches. Restaurant all-inclusive menu has many choices. Overall experience was great...reasonable cost and unparalleled service...I would highly recommend it...
The hotel is in a beautiful location, little bit worn down but still nice. The security and front desk is polite, but the food and service is below average! The waitress in the bar are slow you have to wave them a couple of times to get their attention. Then when we ordered a macchiato they weren’t clear it is an espresso or latte (both on the menu), when we asked about it, they just said for us is the latte. At dinner the waiter asked me a second after we set down what we would like to drink, I told him we would like a jar of tap water and a bit of time to think, he told me we should order because he doesn’t want to come back twice! It was a bit awkward! The soup was tasteless, and lukewarm, it just tasted the food from my elementary school with higher price in a fancy dinner hall. If you want to stay in a nice place in Lillafured, worth the stay, but not the food. Go to the next door for dinner, they are friendly or somewhere else! The hotel's history mentions it was used as a soviet army hospital and they made irreversible changes to the building, yes it happened in the kitchen and in the waiters head...…
