Very nice and comfortable hotel. Offers many possibilities for spending time for families with kids: mini zoo, mountainn trips, swimming pool, outdoor and indoor playground.
Rooms are big and nicy furnished. staff is very nice and helpful.

We have visited hotel Hubert in January with our 2- years old daughter and we were pleased with our stay. Location is very nice. All around are wonderful views of mountains. Hotel has its own mini zoo, where you can ride a pony and show your kid how different animals look and live. There is a train stop only 3 km from the hotel and you can ride through High Tatras from there.

The hotel is spacious, maybe not newly furnished but very much satisfying. After our experience with small rooms in some other hotels, we appreciated the size of a room where you can fit more than a queen bed and cradle. Hotel has its own swimming pool and spa. There is a kids corner in one of the hotels rooms with a slide and a playground outside.

The only thing I was a bit surprised of was an overall slow-down atmosphere. For example there was no one at the bar in the evening or at the restaurant during lunch. (Was it because it was so cold in the bar or there simply was not enough guests as it was no the high season yet ?? Don´t know..:)

For those of you who need to be online in all cases, the wifi is running quite well in the lobby and restaurant but no so well at rooms. However I didn´t miss it :)

Finally, I would surely recommend this hotel. It really has something to offer to families with children but is good as well for a romantic getaway or skiing.

I will write review about our stay at Vila Horec, which is accommodation building next to Hotel Horec. We were only sleeping there, other things like eating, wellnes, etc were at Hotel Huber. Our stay at VILA HOREC started with first shock when after entry in the room (room #1), we were welcomed with frowsy smell, beds were not equal, one was higher than the other for like 10 cm, stained carpet, abraded sink... We did NOT feel comfortable at all even though we were in the room for like 1 hour. In the evening we went to the reception and they changed us the room (they probably thought that we are gonna be okay with the first room). The second room was ok. In the morning and also in the evening we heard a lot of noise – banging doors in the hall and noisy kids. Food was very delicious, equivalent to 5*. Wellness, billiards ok. When we wanted to order something at the cafe, it took like 15 minutes for a waiter to show up. When we wanted to take a wine that we had in price the waiter told us that „wine for zlavomat“ they dont have now, that we should come later for it. Wifi in the vila did not work at all, TV in the room did not work as well. Staff was very kind. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND to visit this hotel (vila), price – quality is not adequate, old equiped hotel and also vila, definetely needs renovation or take away at least one *.

Last year my wife and I took our two little children (aged 5 and 3) to the Tatras and whilst we loved the area we were woefully dissapointed by our choice of accomodation (see my review on the Grand Hotel Stary Smokovec).

So this year having spotted Hotel Hubert on the internet, and being enticed by a special weekend package, we decided to give it a try particularly as it promised much for children. And what a great decision it turned out to be.

The Hotel offers accomodation in the main hotel building and also in a seperate annex called the Villa Horec. We opted to stay in the Villa Horec firstly, because it was cheaper and secondly, there was a wedding in the main Hotel building and we felt that perhaps it would be quieter in the Horec. It was greatly appreciated that the Hotel warned us of the wedding beforehand so we could make the appropriate choice.

The villa Horec is only a hundred metres or so from the main building and after checking in at the main reception we were able to unload our luggage directly from our car into the Villa.

Our room consisted of a large double and there were also two sofa beds on. There was a TV and sorage cuboards and a door onto a spacisous balcony with a fantastic view of mountains. I am a real stickler for cleanliness in Hotels and our room was very clean. Even the inside of the wash basin plughole was spotless. The only drawback of was that we could here a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms. Not talking but rather taps running and doors etc. Maybe in the main hotel the sound proofing would be better.

The wellness centre was excellent with an indoor and outdoor pool and 3 different saunas, Jacuzzi as awell as massages and cosmetic treatments on offer. The outdoor pool is all year round and despite the temperature being -5 or lower I took the plunge and it was warm and a wonderful sensation to swim in, in the cold evening air.

There is also a wine cellar, resturant and coffe shop in the main hotel building. The cofee shop also has a great childrens play room close by and you can get you drinks delivered to you there. A very thoughtful arrangement appreciated by those with little children. Ours had the run of it by themselves most of the time we were there.

The grounds of the hotel are a real plus point. There is a mini zoo, an excellent playground, pony rides (which our kids loved) and we had a lot of fun playing around outside. There are also tennis courts which were covered in snow but if you wanted to play tennis in the winter there are also indoor courts in a tennis hall. There are no other properties nearby the Hotel so the grounds bask in the full glory of the spectacular mountain scenary.

We had breakfast and evening meal included in our package and we found the food very good.

There is also a resturant in the grounds of the hotel (called UTinkeru). This provided a more relaxing ambience than the hotel resturant and supplied a vaierty of grilled meat specialities. As there was a wedding on one evening of our stay the evening meal was served here instead or the main resturant.

On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return. Nice room, excellent facilities, good food, stunning scenary, friendly staff. And hotels that provide this much for children are few and far between, particularly in these parts. So if you have young children I would suggest you consider the Hotel Hubert.

We had received a hotel voucher from friends as a wedding gift. So before Christmass, we have decided with my wife to jump into the car and if there will be a good place for vacation and the Tatras weather will be good, we will be staying some more days, as in the voucher..

The road was good, we came down the highway (even if very snowy weather, was in excelent condition) and came into Svit. There was a roadsign Gerlachov and a couple of meters the first sign for the hotel.. We found it also without navigation. The road untill the crossing was without ice or snow, but after turning left to the hotel, I was happy to take our Volvo XC90 as the road was completelly iced and not maintained.
So we took the baggage inside and I went to park the car to the hotel parking spot. When I came inside, the young receptionist just explained to my wife, that we (even if arrived into a wellness hotel) can not have a massage during the stay. He was rude, when I asked why there can not be anyone, that also the person who is doing massage needs vacation and we are out of season, so it is our bad luck (with this words in Slovak). Well, the next surprise was, that the saunas in the hotel wellness are open only from 4pm to 9pm and can not be switched on earlier, even if You do want to make a good wellness experience.
Dinner was nice but we were not having a possibility of Ala Carte dinner, only 3 meals to choose from. The breakfast as well was not a typical 4 star hotel. First the heating got broken, so in the morning and the evening before we were sitting in the restaurant in sweaters, and I was missing things like whole grain bread or basic 4* accessory as packed butter (there was only one on ice cubes pre/cut)
Rooms were nice, but (sorry for using this word over and over again) our sink in the bathroom was not flowing off correctly, so the water stayed inside for quite some time (anoying)
Wellness had a pool with salt water, that was good, I already mentioned the saunas opening hours 4pm to 9pm, they have steam sauna, finish sauna and should be aromasauna, but the temperature feelingwise was as high as in the steam sauna). Also some small stuff as not checking the soap dispender in the showers in the wellness made me shower twice, also in the room..

So, maybe the magic word, You are out of the season caused all this, but I see a good hotel from the past years, that gave us really bad treatment, and even if we are off season, this can not happen! So sorry for this, I need to rate them as a poor experience, definitely not 4 stars and my family will not come back here

Beautiful and quiet environment of High Tatras, all the staff really helpful and always polite. We loved horses, dogs and ducks, that are raised in the areas around the hotel.
But when looking for a hotel staff to help us to turn on one of Saunas, there was nobody around. After calling them by pushing "call help" button, nobody appeared. And because we were already in wet swimsuit, we were looking for a phone to call the front desk to helps us. We couldn't find any around.
When entering fitness center we were also little bit disappointed by non-functioning equipment. And only 5 machines for cardio-exercise were provided. Nothing else to make different kind of exercise (biceps, triceps, legs, etc...)
Food really delicious, but our appetite was lost, after really indecent, inadequate and clumsy behavior of the restaurant (hotel?) manager. He has never introduced himself.
All the server were professionals, nice, polite and smiling, willing to help. But we missed that smile in their bosses face. If not for the employees, but for the guests, it would make the ambiance more enjoyable.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Hubert. My wife is in a wheelchair so I contacted the hotel directly to make my reservation. They supplied us with a two room suite that had more than enough room for us. They had a very adaquate American Style breakfast buffet. We ate one dinner at the hotel and it was excellant. We also ate one dinner at the small restaurant in a separate building on the property. We had traditional Slovakian food with wonderfull music supplied by a two piece combo. In addition to the Slovak music they honored us with a couple of American favorites. This was an exceptionally great dinner. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and a pleasant pond in the rear of the hotel that was a joy. The staff was extremely helpful with local information and were very helpfull with our special needs. This was a most pleasant experience.

We have spent there Valentine's weekend and it was very very nice. Mountains are beautiful and there is lot of to do in near areas during whole year.
Only problem were noisy people amd trampling so if you want to sleep during the day you will not have quite time becase every sound can be heard.

My sme spokojni neboli, a ani sa tam nevratime:(. Skôr by som si hľadala iný hotel....ale je to len môj názor. Čitala som recenzie z minulého mesiaca ako si to vychvaľovali avšak odpovede na tento príspevok boli negatívne so zlými skúsenosťami.
