Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My son and I stayed in Aran Lodge for 2 nights Tues to Thrus . Deirdre was very welcoming and took time to welcome us to West Cork. The twin room was airy and spacious. We didn't want to get up in the morning the beds were so comfy. The shower was so powerful and there was complimentary toiletries. The tea coffee-making facilities were also a big hit. We managed to go to Bantry ,Glengarriff ,Guagane Barra and Kealkil. The view from the dinning room was breath taking. There was a wide variety of hot and cold foods for breakfast . From a full irish to sweet or savoury pancakes . Fish was also available. Their homemade scones were to die for delicious. Their homemade brown bread was also delicious. Their dog Ollie and cat John were also a big hit . Would love to return before the end of summer to a home away from home .

We spent the night at Aran Lodge and our room had a huge window overlooking the water. The grounds are pretty and Joe & Dierdre were very nice. They made suggestions for dinner in Glengariff and they prepared a great breakfast the next morning. Our room was comfortable and clean; however, bathroom was quite small.

A friendly welcome by both the hosts and their dog. All covid restrictions were fully observed. Good hearty breakfasts. The house is set in its own well-maintained gardens and has a handy pub about a minute's walk away across the road. The room was fairly small but comfortable and clean.

Had a two night stay at the end of August. Our room had a sea view and was very comfortable. Deirdre the host was very welcoming and friendly. We were on a short stay to celebrate our anniversary and Deirdre gave us a bottle of prosecco and strawberries which we thought was a lovely gesture. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and arrived very quickly. Highly recommend and looking forward to returning.

I recently stayed here with nine friends and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by Deirdre the lovely host. We were blown away by the beautiful views and well kept gardens. We had a lovely first evening having our drinks outside on the patio with the view of the sea behind us. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Fresh towels were provided with snacks and water. Each morning we were given a feast of a breakfast from Deirdre. There was a tasty fry, fresh fruit and yoghurt, cereal, pancakes, scones and if we had wanted a fish option we could have had that too. The service was excellent from Ali and Cara making sure we had enough juice, tea and coffee. Deirdre and Joe organised transport for us to go to Bantry, Schull and other places. The family had excellent knowledge of the local area and were able to give us guidance on where to go. Kelly was able to direct us to Three Castle Head, Mizen head and Gougane Barra. The lodge had a lovely family atmosphere and we met Brian and Emma and Ollie their beautiful black Labrador. It was the perfect stay for the nine of us who met up for the reunion and we felt extremely comfortable for our entire stay. It’s a great location with lovely people and excellent food. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is planning to visit West Cork!

Aron Lodge is a fantastic B and B in a magical setting with an incredible garden with sea views.... All of it's attributes including a superb breakfast menu are only beaten by the warmth of Deirdre, Joe and Family, (and lovely dog Ollie)the hosts.... They have all the time in the world to point out all the best places to visit and activities to do. Situated 5mins drive from Bantry in Ballylickey it was wonderfully located for us to access the town, the Bay and the Sheepshead peninsula. They made us feel at home and offered to go above and beyond. It's West Cork folk like Deirdre and Joe that keep you coming back. Can't recommend highly enough. Call Deirdre or Joe directly for the quickest and best deal. They can talk you through the sizes and positions of the best room to accommodate you!!! Graham and Lesa

Fabulous accommodation and hospitality. We stayed here with our 3 teenage children in the family room. We stayed in a number of 4 star hotels along the Atlantic way for our weekly staycation and this topped them all. Deirdre is a very warm and friendly person and I wish her well in her business through these challenging times. Orla
