Very dog friendly - we were given a large bedroom with direct access to the garden. Rather dated decor but spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Supper was less good - overcooked fish. Friendly and efficient service.

Dated, shabby and trip back to the 70s. Tatty furniture, hard beds, dated wall paper and carpets, broken locks on room windows and a heavy key fob to rooms - no electronic cards . The smell of damp in the room adjoining the restaurant wasn't pleasant. Also no bar till 5pm totally ridiculous after a long drive. Jacuzzi out of action even though the hotel was full, the answer need to keep it lit aka it's a wood burning so they didn't have it lit! Reception area dated and receptionist rude and not very welcoming. Dinner food just about edible and breakfast was completely burnt. Try the Eccles Hotel down the road about 15 minutes drive, superior value and incredible for old world charm hotel with new furnishings.

Great hotel with extremely friendly staff. Breakfast is a real highlight and the location is lovely with nice views down the garden to the sea. Great place to relax - lots of lovely lounges to sit and unwind.

My husband and I and our two children and our Tricolour Border Collie stayed here in July..We had two suites on the ground floor both of which had French Doors out to the garden. We had the King Pet Suite and my children (older teens) had the suite next door..We had an amazing stay and were made to feel very welcome and so was our beloved pooch Dipper..I’ve never used a pet friendly hotel before so this was over and above what we were expecting..The staff were all so lovely and chatty and really made us feel relaxed especially with having our dog..The accommodation was superb..I’m a huge fan of country houses , antiquated homes etc so this hotel really fitted the bill..The grounds are really lovely and it’s only a few miles to beautiful Bantry, Glengarrif and lots to do in both, There is a fabulous walk there which is great if your outdoor people like us..The food here is absolutely fantastic and I recommend you eat at the restaurant on your stay as it really was that good..There is a lovely bar here and also a spa on the grounds..We had the only 2 rooms in that part of the hotel which was brilliant for us being able to go from one to the other with Dipper without bothering anyone..I highly recommend staying here if your in the area and are looking for old worldly charm and good food ,especially if you ,like me don’t want to leave your pet..We will be returning hopefully this winter as can’t wait to see the place at Christmas ...Thanks to everyone there for a wonderful stay😀…

I would recommend for something different than the usual corporate type modern hotel experience. We had a suite and it was just as I expected it to be nicely decorated and comfortable. The dinner menu was excellent and the quality fantastic

Just back from a very relaxing 2 night stay with our two dogs. Such a lovely hotel with such helpful and friendly Staff. The ground floor rooms kept for anyone travelling with dogs are ideal as they have direct access to the gardens which is perfect for any urgent little essential outings needed by the 4 legged guests. Also, it has access to a lovely little secluded patio area to sit out on in nice weather.

We enjoyed another return two-night visit to Seaview House, well located just outside Ballylickey on the 'Wild Atlantic Way' and about 6 km from 'downtown' Bantry. The atmosphere is 'country house' cosy, the décor is elegant, most of the furniture is antique and there is a ‘bath house’ with spa services. However, the 'sea view' is quite limited, at least in summer. There is no elevator and the top floor rooms are accessed by 30 + steep steps. Our (single) room was compact, with traditional brown furniture, possibly claustrophobic for a long stay. The bathroom was well sized (shower over a bath). All the staff we met were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, one of the best we have experienced - a well-stocked buffet is supplemented by hot food cooked to order from an extensive menu. Dinner is also very high quality. WiFi is simple to use. There is no electric car charger (there are some in Bantry) Overall, an excellent base for visiting Bantry, Glengarriff and the Beara Peninsula. Recommended. …

We went to Seaview for dinner to celebrate a significant birthday with our friend. It was a most enjoyable experience. Seaview has a wonderful ambience as it is a lovely proportioned building looking onto beautiful verdant gardens. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and served. We have all been going to Seaview for upwards of thirty years and it is great to see that they continue to maintain the high standards. Well done to all and we will be back!

We stayed in Seaview house hotel over the june bank holiday. A beautiful hotel with excellent staff and service. The room was lovely, large, clean and a lovely base for a few days. I couldnt say enough good things about the staff and level of customer care its excellent. I did however have a few small issues, mostly with the food. The Beakfast buffet was very nice except most mornings the soda bread was near raw in the middle, also im a vegatarian and asked for pre ordered veg sausages which the hotel kindly had for me, but i only had them the first morning as they were cooked to cardboard level,so I asked for mushrooms the second morning, which were cooked in a fat fryer(being a chef myself for 30 years) I can tell how some thing was cooked, this was disappointing and not up to the standard of this in other ways beautiful spot. Food issues continued with a light dinner one evening ,were we ordered salad and at 13.50 and 16.00 euro respectivily i did expect for my husband more than a tiny plate of mixed lettuce and a small warm pear mixed through it For myself two tiny qunelles of crab and a claw came out at 16.00 it seemed very over priced and tiny so we asked for some fries, these came out tired, hard, dry and multidipped many times in the fat fryer (Its oil needed changing ) we called the manager who changed them straight away and brought fresh ones,we had some bread also that night but again the soda bread was slightly under done in the center. I then ordered a almond tiramisu it looked lovely texture seemed light but one bite was enough ,the over powering taste of almond essence was very off putting, i really was disappointed i had hoped this lovely looking dessert would have a natural fresh taste of almond and not a chemical taste of almond from shop essence(that one slice tasted like a whole bottle was poured in ) As i said at the start the hotel and staff are lovely, and I would recommend this hotel in many ways very comfortable beds and cant do enough but I didnt enjoy alot of the food …

Dear Climber We are delighted to hear that you had a lovely stay at Seaview House Hotel and you definitely recommend returning to stay with us. From your comments below I see you felt there were some issues. With regards to the Crab Salad, we use very high-quality ingredients and if you were to buy fresh crab meat in any quality store I’d advise you to look at the price, its not cheap product people tend to forget that. Re Almond Tiramisu we don’t use almond essence we use Disaranno (amaretto) its gives a rich texture to the dessert, Our bread’s are made fresh everyday by baking team I don’t understand your point, we cut every morning and evening fro service, if there was an issue it would not be served, also we don’t cook mushrooms in a fryer. We cook them fresh to order in pan. The bought in sausages were product you requested and were cooked as per instruction. I hope this clears up the points you made. We appreciate your feed back and look forward to seeing you again. Yours sincerely Ronan

We had a fantastic evening dinner at Seaview in late may. Food was lovely but what makes Seaview special is the service. Thanks Ronan and team - we always feel so welcome when we visit. Special thanks to Lydia and Jane who always go beyond in making our visits enjoyable
