Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean with a large comfortable bed. The food was good. I found it odd that you could not charge wine and drinks to your room even though a credit card was requested for security at check in. It was a enjoyable weekend and we will be back.

The room was spacious. The place was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Food was good. Location was convenient - on the main road. Some of the restaurant staff could be better trained to deal with customers. If you don't have a car, the location could be an issue.

Dear tigerprawn100 Thank you for your comments after visiting us recently here in Racket Hall Hotel. It is much appreciated to see the many positives you mentioned within your review. I take your point on the staff completely in that training is an ongoing thing within the Hotel. The only point I will make and I am sure many other Hoteliers/Managers will concur... That is that is notoriously difficult to get staff currently and equally hard to then hold on to them whilst training is ongoing. That however is in no way an excuse, particularly if a certain element of your stay did not measure up. Thank you kindly again for all of your feedback Kind Regards Gerry Lavin General Manager Racket Hall Hotel

Myself & my friend Tracy took the wrong turn off the M7. We rang the Hotel & spoke to Celine, the Receptionist who did her best to direct us which wasn't easy as the correct route was quite tricky. Luckily we were able to find our way using Google Maps. Celine rang us to check if we were OK. Then after our meal, I had hoped to watch Happy Valley on BBC 1 but the channel wasn't on the TV in our room. Celine, the Receptionist came to our room & did her best to find BBC 1, but wasn't successful. I have to say that she did her best to help us, but I would like an explanation from the Hotel Management as to why BBC wasn't on the TV? I don't think any UK channels were?

Dear JacintaEgan Thank you kindly for posting a review after your recent visit to Racket Hall Hotel. It is always very rewarding for the team member concerned to be name checked as you have done and I will make sure Celine is made aware of your kind words. I do however apologise that you were not able to watch your programme. In early December we put new 50" flat screens into 75% of our rooms whilst at the same time upgrading to a new digital service. What we currently have is the Saoirview package with Sky News being the English Channel that is offered along with many Radio Channels etc. It may be something that we revisit at a later stage whilst taking your comment into consideration. I do hope it did not detract too much from your visit and once again, thank you very much for all of your feedback. Kind Regards Gerry Lavin General Manager Racket Hall Hotel

This was a wonderful place for our family to take a few nights to rest while on our travels through Ireland. The rooms were spacious, and we enjoyed having a deep tub/ shower in our bathroom. The inn is a little remote, however there is a wonderful restaurant on site! We had specifically stayed in Rosecrea to visit Leap Castle, which is only 8-10 minute drive away. Hoping to make it back to this lovely Inn one day. It was an unexpected surprise in the country!

Friendly receptionist. Lovely spacious, comfortable room. Super comfortable bed ! There was even a small fridge in the room. I had to leave too early for breakfast - but the breakfast starts at 7am - so brilliant if you need to get on the road early for work .... sadly, still wasn't early enough for my work day :-(

We stayed here for 4 nights this week and when I was I was disgusted I mean I was disgusted. They do not clean ur room if you are staying multiple nights. Stating some ridiculous COVID rubbish for their penny pinching exercise On arrival I went for a shower and found huge clumps of long back hair all over the tiles on the bathroom, I informed reception who said it would be sorted 4 days later it wasn't!! The rooms are dated, unclean and seriously cold. Food was ok but service was shocking and not because the staff where poor, they where excellent there just wants anywhere near enough of them. Location was excellent. The place needs a massive massive facelift, they need to employ cleaners and clean the rooms. Cobwebs line the bar/restaurant walls. Clearly the place is severely understaffed. I've traveled alot and it was quiet honestly the dirtiest place I have ever visited

Dear A8183VErichard Thank you kindly for your comments after recently staying with us here in Racket Hall Hotel It is quite disappointing to both see that you didn't enjoy your stay and in turn your subsequent comments. I am aware that the evening you arrived the offer was made to address the issue of a hair in your bathroom immediately , but you declined as you wanted to go to to bed. I can assure you that this was done the following day as I made certain of it myself. Regarding the cleaning of the rooms...… We have a letter in all rooms letting guests know that if they would like their room cleaned to please let us know. You of course are entitled to your opinion but to state that it is ' some COVID rubbish' is somewhat missing the point. As I type, we have 2 members of the team out with long Covid and 2 others out for over a week with Covid. We like many premises are indeed struggling for staff and in particular midweek but we are getting there. We have cleaners employed ( 2 of which are here a combined 30+ years ) but mistakes do happen and for that I of course totally apologise. Last week of course was the national Ploughing and we were a-lot busier than any normal week and did on all fronts try and give as good a service as was possible However when we have somebody in situ with the Company paying for all in terms of accommodation , food & beverage that it would have been both helpful & indeed constructive if something had been said to Management prior to departure as opposed to your totally negative review I do however as stated initially, thank you for your feedback and will be certain to share it with the team. Kind Regards Gerry Lavin General Manager Racket Hall Hotel

My husband and I got married in August 2022. I can't begin to say how amazing the experience was from booking the venue to the actual day. Aoife was an excellent wedding coordinator. She asked our opinion on everything and everything was catered to our likes. On the lead up to the day, she put no pressure on us and everything felt very at ease which is a rare thing when planning a wedding. On the day, guests were greeted with a prosecco wall and food on arrival. Aoife and the staff were so kind and understanding to everyone's needs. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted at the car by aoife with two glasses of prosecco and a big smile. The guests couldn't stop raving about the food. It all came out so quickly and tasted amazing. The waiters and waitresses were top notch and Aoife was in the room making sure everyone was taken care of. The bridal suite was stunning and the views were fab. Everyone loved the rooms and had a great night sleep. The reception hall were we ate had a private garden so the party wouldn't be gatecrashed which we really appreciated. To aoife, Gerry and all the staff at the racket Hall thank you so much for making our day so special xx
