Very quaint pub off the A303. Food very good and drink well priced. I have had Christmas family parties here as well. Reasonable parking outside. Good for large or small groups. Staff friendly and eager to help. The pub has seen several changes in owners in the last few years unfortunately

We have been a few times recently and the food has always been excellent. The carvery is a cut above the ordinary and the chef is keen to come and talk about the food which I think is great. It would be nice if there was a bit of background music as it was v quiet when we there.

We went for a family supper....oh calamity! The girls were very nice and helpful but sadly even they were embarrassed come the end! Firstly, we waited an hour and twenty minutes from first ordering to starter....there were only four others eating in a 50+ cover restaurants! The food was appalling, the prawns were still frozen, the beefburgers you could have...

Visited The Bell as it was the nearest place for lunch prior to attanding a funeral at Broadway. Very few people in, only one at the bar a three others eating. Very limited menu and relatively expensive. The meal was OK but took for ever to arrive.

We stopped during a trip from Bournemouth to North Devon and it made a wonderful break from what was otherwise a pretty awful journey. The pub is off the main road and is very well laid out and cosy inside. Extremely dog friendly. We ordered the home made steak and ale pie which consisted of large chunks of lean beef...

Lovely village inn; in a very nice rural setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The prices were reasonable. I would recommend the pizzas. The range of beers was good. The only thing that let it down was our room which was in an outbuilding on the first floor. It was very small and had...

Comfortable room with views across the fields. Small fridge, TV, bottled water, teas, coffees, biscuits, toileries provided. Separate from the pub, which was almost empty by 9.30pm so no noise. Car parking. Friendly landlord. Good selection of evening meals and breakfast. Ideal for a one night stay.
