We arrived at Dalhousie Castle which is a lovely place, lots of character, also lots of stairs but no lift! We had a nice room warm and comfortable. This was a Christmas gift from our son. It could have been a better experience, there seems to be a lack of good cheer with some of the staff, and perhaps a...

I had a wonderful stay at the Dalhousie castle, I stayed in the lower castle suite, It was spectacular! The dinner (monk fish and lobster risotto) was superb. You can touch history everywhere you go in the castle or on the grounds. The falconer was friendly and generous with her time, even though i had no time to book the...

We were planning to stay at Dalhousie Hotel and delighted to find out dog could come with us. When booking we were told that there was £25 charge for the dog , for one night, plus they only have two dog rooms and they are both suites, we would also have to pay an upgrade charge of £40 , making...

After our engagement in December 2016 my fiancée and I spent the first weeks of the new year researching and viewing venues. Dalhousie Castle was our third viewing for which we drove fifty miles from our home town of Stirling to meet Ailie, the "senior wedding coordinator". Having sent an email to Ailie previously to no response we were slightly...

I stayed here through work who booked it through Expedia, cheaper than the Tavel lodge, this is a fantastic place to visit a definite for visitors from further a field. The grounds are spectacular, the hotel is ozzing in history & character. The rooms are grand, the hotel interior is grand, there's hidden rooms & staircases. All the fixtures &...

Staff too busy to help or give proper a welcome and left to fend to find own room in a place that's a maze and lack of decent signage in the Castle does not help either, the bed in the room was so old and rickety it afforded no privacy and when you turned over during the night the noise...

This was booked as a gift intended as couples night away but we decided to take our 7 month old, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for children, or anyone with physical disabilities as there are lots of steps and narrow corridors as you would expect from a castle, this is not a criticism though, the staff could not have been...

We booked this one-night stay with dinner and breakfast included via a 3rd party castle getaway site, and were more than satisfied. Yes the place is very old (um... because it's a hundreds of years old castle...renovated in the 70's through 90's to be a hotel) - which either adds to your experience or takes away... If you are looking...

Myself and my sister booked into Dalhousie Castle while in Newtongrange for a family funeral. We could not have made a better choice as we loved living in a real castle, if only for the day. We were lucky as our room was in the castle itself, which was amazing. The room was big, with coffee making facilities and the...

DISASTER!! My fiance & I booked Dalhousie for our wedding in Oct 2017. We booked the venue in Oct 2016 & needed the venue for Friday & Saturday for our 70 international guests (many coming from the States). We were literally unable to book our rooms or have our guests book their rooms for OVER 6 MONTHS! No one answers...
