I am sorry but this is a beautiful place with terrible food . The surroundings are exceptional but the food is over cooked and dreadfully presented . Eat in the Orangery as opposed to the dungeon as the quality of food is different . I don't like writing negative reviews but this place need a new chef .

We visited today for the afternoon tea. . Firstly trying to book over the phone was problematic as there's never any one to answer the phone then I emailed 3x before I received a reply. . I confirmed the booking for today by email then when we arrived in the orangery restaurant they had no record of my booking however...

Wonderful castle - truly magical. The room (12) had the most AMAZING ginormous bed too. Can highly recommend the dungeon restaurant - but book a table well before you go: we had to pretty much beg our way in after being told a couple of times in the evening that there was 'definitely' no room. We went down there anyways...

We had arrived at Dalhousie Castle following an excellent stay at Fonab Castle in Pitlochry and we were so disapointed in how we were treated at the reception. The greeting was not even cold but we were met with distinct disaproval even dispondency as I had changed the date of our booking through booking.com and there had been a miscommunication...

We would definitely recommend staying at Dalhousie Castle and we will stay there again. The hotel itself is full of character, charm and atmosphere - from the Dungeon restaurant to the cosy library with book cases full of old books and a roaring fire. We stayed in room 22 (William Wallace) which has been reviewed below - we decided it's...

The staff at the castle were really lovely. However, the spa was out of order and generally our Hogmanay celebrations didnt quite live up to expectations. Although the food was lovely there wasn't really anything else to make this NYE memorable.

Stayed here for one night with my partner and couldn't fault it. Arrived at around 6pm and we used the spa facilities until they closed at 8pm. Rather small spa but really relaxing and quiet when we went so managed to use the facilities without having to wait. Nice and clean bedroom with beautiful views! Breakfast was really yummy and...

From the moment we are It felt like we had stepped back in time. This is a beautifully restored castle and we had a lovely themed room that had an interleading door to the children's room. The only disappointment was the afternoon tea which was expensive at £18 each (same price for kids) with very average food - picture attached...

A great venerable castles with relatively good hotel facilities. We had a good stay at Christmas. The resteurant had good dishes, but a small dishes. Wine selection was ok. The staff had great service attitude, but there must have been little or no communication between departments. The servant staff was to small to handle a fully booked hotel

  • Living area in Suite. TC cabinet has no TV in it though.
  • Fantastic four poster. Very clean and comfortable
  • Bathroom is average and not in style of the bedroom. It also had a cracked sink.
