When I arrived it was easy to find, on the A38 just off the M5. If you are going to Jekka's Herbs it's literally just along the lane, about a mile. The staff were wonderfully welcoming on arrival.I had a single room which was comfortable and clean. It had tea and coffee facilities and a small en-suite with a shower,...

This was our second Christmas Night out at The Alveston House House. The first one was in 2014 and the ladies enjoyed it so much they begged to go back again. The food is tasty, nicely presented and all comes out at the same time. The drinks are reasonable and they have a full selection. The DJ was not used...

The lunch was pre-booked as it was a group and also the meals chosen in advance. Attractive hotel and the dining room was light and airy, the tables laid out well, (three long ones) and although it was pretty full, it didn't feel cramped. My partner had a vegetarian meal and I had salmon as the main course. The food...

I decided to surprise my wife and take her for lunch at a hotel she had been to before with friends. I was very surprised to find it very quite, considering it was Valentines day, but I then discovered it was fully booked for the afternoon celebration tea and fully booked for dinner. We didn't have a starter as sometimes...

We are so pleased you enjoyed your surprise lunch in Carriages Restaurant. As you point out, it was an incredibly busy afternoon and evening so we are happy that you were able to enjoy a quiet lunch. We hope you will visit our restaurant again in the future.

The hotel is well situated on the A38 with Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds within easy reach. We knew it had a good reputation so were keen to try it out. On arrival, there is plenty of parking and the building looked spotless and well-maintained. Once inside this care and attention to detail is continued throughout, and the décor is...

I visited this hotel with a group of 8 friends for Sunday lunch. The venue had been recommended to me previously. The plus points were quite a nice dining room and very easy on site parking. I requested a window table wnd this request was granted, although it was a long, rather than a round table which I find difficult...

Booked his hotel as I was going into bath with my partner and the mother / father in law for the winter Christmas market. All of the bath hotels close by where filled so we looks further afield. This little gem we found online and it was fantastically priced and the staff were very friendly. Set in a great locations...

Stayed here for just the one evening. We were a party of 6, and had tea and scones (which were so light - wonderful!) when we arrived, which was a nice touch. In the evening had a lovely meal, we had a couple of special requests for food, and they were more than happy to oblige, as we had sorted...

We stayed here just one night as we were visiting friends locally. The staff were friendly and attentive, the room clean and welcoming and a late night key was readily supplied when we found the door would be locked at 11.30pm. Breakfast the following morning was excellent, the highlight for me was a choice of three fish dishes something I...

Best afternoon tea we have had so far, even beat Harvey Nicks, lovely staff, first class scones and fresh sandwiches, lovely sofas by warm fire, what's not to like, lovely afternoon spent with three other family members, who have been run off their feet organising Christmas.
