To start booking in was a shambles given incorrect booking and told only booked for one night not two and informed hotel fully booked for following night issue was sorted although with the comment well you never read the paperwork and the customer service was at best non existent from waiting an hour in the bar after a dinner reservation with no interaction as to what or why this was happening to the room being serviced or not as I had made the bed after a fashion so I could sit on it the room was not touched other than replacing towels and clean cups and as mentioned in a previous review the collection of cleaners outside the room bumping and banging. Although the hotel has one area the kitchen and its staff that needs to be mentioned for the quality of food it produced as even obviously under serious pressure the quality was worth waiting for. Oh and the barman makes a great Mai Tai.

I hired the lodge for our corporate function and it was nothing short of fantastic. What a great boutique hotel. Food is amazing, Great atmosphere, such a great welcome and attentive staff. The rooms and overall hotel design is fantastic, don’t miss out on this little gem, whether it’s a business function, overnight stay or weekend break. Will be coming again. See you soon

Unfortunately we were disappointed with this experience. We booked the Lodge and were charged £25 for the uses of the outside space. This was fine, apart from the length of service, and attention. 3 hours from start to finish, long enough for kids to get bored and us to have empty glasses. Food was average, and paid over the odds for it. When you are paying close to £200 for 2 Adults and 4 kids, I expect the food to be better than a average pub gun experience.

The overall experience was amazing, couldn’t fault the staff, location. We stayed in stable 2. I arrived early and was allowed to check in, the person on reception couldn’t do enough and showed me to the room. Room was very clean, I loved the wardrobe was a little dressing area.

I had dinner here on Monday in a garden pod. The pod was warm and nicely decorated and lit which created an easy, intimate atmosphere. The menu was well thought out and the food was delicious when it arrived, portions just right. I was en route to Kent and had left my phone charger behind. Luke was so helpful - finding a suitable charger and charging my phone inside the hotel. I lost count of the number of trips Luke made between the hotel and our pod - always cheerful and helpful, with an easy professional rapport with us. All in all, it was a delightful evening and I look forward to eating there again

We booked a glass pod for a family early eve supper after a long day of dealing with movers and packers. It was so relaxing to be able to sit together in a quiet pod which was beautifully decorated and warm. The food was delicious and the service from Luke was superb.. quick, polite and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend visiting here they are working so hard to make it an inviting place to eat and drink.

Where do you start with this fabulous place. ah yes the entrance. Park in an ample spaced carpark and walk up to the front door. Open and walk into a contemporary chic hotel with fab modern art on every wall including the loos.A friendly welcome at reception and superb thoughtful decor everywhere Our room had a very comfy six foot wide bed with quality sheets duvet and pillows. I spy a nespresso machine as well as a kettle. Walk into the bathroom and be greeted with a very large shower and whats more, an incredibly powerful rain and separate shower head Even usb imputs on the plugs by the bedside. Plenty of room to hang up clothes. All very well thought out. Lounge/ bar area was comfy with funky chairs and again lots of art A well stocked bar too. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was tasty too and i spy best butter netherend as James Martin points out We met the owners and had great conversations and it was a pleasure to listen to the passion and effort that has gone into transferring the place into what it is and what’s to come . We shall certainly return

We booked Stable 1 at this hotel as we have some mobility issues and thought that this courtyard room would be the most suitable, however access around the site proved an issue, with steps unavoidable to get into the main building. The main problem however was the size of the bathroom in our room. Very limited space made it hard to use the toilet and one of us was unable to use the shower at all as the entrance was so tight. We re-checked the website following our stay to see if there was an accessibility statement that we had just missed, but could not find any information other than the mention of “small en-suite shower room” in the ‘explore’ area for this room. We had missed this as we went straight to the booking section where it just states “walk in shower” with no photos available. This is a shame as it spoiled for us what would otherwise have been a nice stay at this pleasant and slightly quirky hotel where the food, décor (we liked all the lights and glassware) and service were all good. A good location to stay if visiting the War Museum.

Steve_And_Alison34 Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments following a recent stay at The Lodge. The layout and location of the hotel does provide us with some challenges when it comes to making it easily accessible although there are different rooms, including some with step free access and larger bathrooms. We are working to make improvements and also create an accessibility statement so that it is clearer for prospective guests. We're pleased that you liked the hotel and do hope that we will welcome you back again soon,

My partner and I have visited The Lodge at Duxford 3 times now (2 times in Loft 5). We love this hotel and the Loft room especially. The large bath and shower are to die for. Staff are always helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We have always eaten both dinner and breakfast here also when staying. Service is always attentive and the food delicious, we even treated ourselves to breakfast in bed this time! I would highly recommend The Lodge for a beautiful getaway with great customer service! We will be returning that’s for sure!
