We had a lovely time here. The adventurous drive down to it was a thrill, the walk to the waterfalls was a lot of fun (although not advisable with a 2yr old boy), the setting was beautiful, the staff excellent, the rooms were nice (the fully stacked open fire was a nice touch) and the horse riding trip through the...

We had a very large room with two queen beds and a large bath area, one of the best rooms of our 20-day trip! The bedroom and bath both had very good illumination, and there were enough electrical outlets for all of my needs. All meals were buffet-style, and tasty. WiFi was free and good. The short wine list was...

I would go back here in a heart beat. The resort and location were beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, the weather was cool/almost cold, and it was a different experience than we got in other parts of Costa Rica.

Unfortunately, we only stayed here for one night! We would've loved to have stayed longer. Fantastic location and brilliant hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We did early morning bird watching, which was AMAZING. This was with one of the hotel bird watching guides and was a private tour with just me and my husband. He was just brilliant. He took...

Ah, Savegre is a wonderful respite in the mountains of Costa Rica. I had such a great time birding, which I have never done before, hiking, eating and relaxing. On a former farm, this wonderful natural reserve you can enjoy being on your own, wondering the beautifully landscaped property and lazing in the sun or you can take tours which...

We went there to celebrate my birthday last year and I still remember the place with pleasure. The place is green everywhere full of hummingbirds and others. There is a river next to the hotel you can sit in front of and relax by hearing the sound. Rooms have chimney and electric heaters in case you don't like the smoke....

Our accommodation was booked by our tour, and we were upgraded to a suite by the hotel. Room was modern and elegant with our own entrance and bench outside. The large ensuite bathroom had a large soaker tub. Meals were served in the main building where we were greeted by the chef and friendly staff. Some food was buffet and...

You are at a high altitude when you turn off road No.2 to descend to what is described as a 'hidden valley'. The lengthy route down provides an 'interesting' drive on the unmade road. However, the journey is worthwhile as you are rewarded with a very pleasant location, very acceptable accommodation, pleasant gardens, trails ranging in difficulty and a buffet...

This is a family run hotel and spa, set in a beautiful valley in the mountains, about three hours from San Jose. The steep hairpin bends down to the resort afford beautiful views of the cloud forest. The draw of the place is the myriad of hummingbirds, tanagers and the resplendent quetzal - the mythical bird of Costa Rica that...

Living at the Beach, what a nice change. Nestled in the Valley, surrounded by the mountains-loved the cold nights and pleasant days. Our room was thoughtfully equipped with plenty of blankets and, in case of extreme weather, there is a space heater. We asked for a room close to the restaurant and equipped with a fireplace--Felipe Chacon hooked us up.....
