Excellent attention, a hotel very focused on customer service, spectacular food, the best hamburger 🍔 I've ever tasted! excellent service from Kenneth and Kerling, we were amazed and recommend them. 100%
Nice place and an incredible place in the Dota mountains. The service at the hotel was very good and the room was everything we expected. San Gerardo de Dota is beautiful place and Suria offers a very good location inside the mountains.
Great place to discover. Family managed. Super professional. Dedicated staff. Very flexible to ease their clients. restaurant is incredible: food and service again. Whole team, from receptionist, management and restaurant staff, are offering a quality of service above average. Peaceful environment, impressive gardens, couple and family oriented. Romantic. Rustic. Simple but perfect in its own way. Will return.
My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Suria. The front desk staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. They provided us with great directions to a local waterfall and did all the work in setting up our bird tour and quetzal tour. Agniel, the local guide with whom Suria partners, is fantastic and goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. The rooms are clean and the grounds are extremely well maintained. Without a doubt, however, the best feature of Hotel Suria is the dining. Randal, the maître d'hôtel/head waiter, is exceedingly attentive and radiates a contagious positivity -- seeing him at our meals always left us smiling. I have nothing but positive things to say about Hotel Suria! Note: My partner and I used public bus to travel all around Costa Rica, but getting to San Gerardo de Dota by bus seemed pretty infeasible, so we hired a driver through our Air BnB host in Manuel Antonio.…
Beautifull Location with a beautiful garden. The cottage was clean with a hot water shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice diner and breakfast in the restaurant with a fire-place. Very welcome because at night it was very cold. For the road to the hotel you need a good car as it was very steep! We had early morning a quetzaltour, organised by the hotel. Super experience!
We stayed at this hotel for one night whist on a Tui multi destination holiday. When we arrived it was cold and wet. Check in was ok, and receptionist helpful. We were in our room around 5pm, all was okay but the lights and Wi-Fi failed after an hour of us being there. We reported the lights but told they would be back on in 20 mins and that we were not the only ones affected. At this point the electrical sockets were still working so we plugged in the heater in the room as we were cold. We at that point decided to go and sit by the fire in the restaurant and wait for the electricity to be restored. We sat there for quite a while before we were offered s drink and told the lights would work in 2 hours. We decided to have a snack as well. Before we left the restaurant we were told the lights wouldn’t be repaired until the following day. We got back to the room to find all the electrics had packed up so we couldn’t use the heater. So it was pretty cold for us every time we got out of bed. We discovered the electrics were working when we got up at 5am. The hotel is pretty and the room looked nice when we could see it! I totally understand that these things happen through no fault of the hotel but it blighted our stay. The breakfast was ok but the restaurant was cold and so was the coffee!…
The hotel is set in a small village down in the valley with mountains surrounding. The manager, Sophia, was the most customer-focused person you could imagine. She found ways to accommodate all of our requests, some of which were quite unique. Their restaurant also provided a great experience for both dinner and breakfast.
We went on a 9-hour birding tour provided by the Suria Lodge guide and it was a truly awesome experience. As avid birders, my wife and I were interested in all the little, under appreciated forest birds as well as the beautiful Quetzal and Emeral Toucanets. Our guide was able to help us identify a whole assortment of species and even taught us a few birding calls. He offered excellent recommendations for additional locations to bird and really made our birding adventure a success. 100% would hire again.
This is a great hotel located in San Gerardo de Dota near the Savegre river. Rooms are rustic and very comfortable cabins, located around a lush garden were you can see many hummingbirds in the early morning hours. The rooms are very warm, and even during a thunderous storm, we did not need to use the provided heaters. Beds are clean and have multiple covers. Bathrooms are very large and provide ample hot water, although you need to run the hot water for a little while until you get it. Breakfast is included and the restaurant area is perfect for reading, chilling or even working. They have a nice fireplace and we saw them prepare a romantic dinner for two in front of it, with rose petals and candles. If you want to be up and about early in the mooring, they can prepare a boxed breakfast, so you can go out and enjoy the birds. We travel often to the San Gerardo area for scientific research and they have always tried to accommodate us and our students, thus supporting local research. If you are in town, pay them a visit and you too will be supporting local scientific research on conservation biology.…
My husband and I took the suggestion from our tour guide email@example.com to stay here. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived! Rooms are squeaky clean, awesome showers. quiet and peaceful. Manuel was like our private butler and accommodated our every need! From dinner suggestions, to hiking the waterfall, the staff was super helpful in guiding us! The place to stay in San Gerardo de Dota, hands down!
