We stayed here for a long weekend in June 2017 and would highly recommend it. Firstly, it is an exceptionally comfortable and friendly B&B, with beautiful rooms, a great cooked Ulster breakfast (and cereals/toast etc) with real coffee and a proper cup of tea. Your hosts, the father-and-son team Derek and Darren, could not be more helpful and accommodating, and there is plenty of free parking as well. There is a lovely guest lounge and there are plenty of quiet country lanes for walking. The ancient Cassidy Rath is a 30-minute walk away, and you can walk to upper Lough Erne. Killideas is close to a number of amenities, including the stunning Castle Archdale country park and two great restaurants being Tullana in nearby Lisnarick and Molly’s bar and restaurant in Irvinestown which is about 3 miles away. Enniskillen is also worth a visit, especially the Round-O marina at the base of Lower Lough Erne. Longfields is an excellent base for touring Co. Fermanagh, Co. Donegal and Co. Sligo. We visited Belleek pottery (about 20 minutes by car, and don’t miss the Thatch cottage cafe in the village), Donegal town (about an hour), Ballyshannon and Bundoran (also about an hour or so). There are some lovely drives and don’t miss the drive between Ballyshannon and Garrison alongside Lough Melvin. You cross the border on a regular basis as you tour but hardly notice the difference, apart from the signs being in mph or kph. Sligo town is also an easy drive and you can tour Yeat’s country from here. On our way to Donegal town, we went through the border village of Pettigo and took the road to Lough Derg where we could see the pilgrimage island of St. Patrick (although didn’t have time to take the ferry to the island). Derek’s home-made bread is absolutely wonderful, and their hospitality is excellent. They are close to the Manor House Inn Hotel which is situated on the Lough, and you can also hire boats from there (and the hotel runs a touring boat service from near Castle Archdale, off the Killideas-Kesh road). If we’re in the area again, we will definitely stay there again.…
Arrived on Friday night for a wedding on Saturday in Manor House.Friendly warm welcome from Derek and his son Darren. We were given our keys for the room and front doors and shown to our room.It was spotlessly clean with a double bed with a spotless ensuite, and lovely clean towels. The bed and pillows were very comfy. There was a large TV with freeview. After we got settled Darren asked us would we like a cooked breakfast for both mornings and what time we'd like them at.we made our way out and were told that there was no bother about what time we arrived back at.I have to say this was a great wee B&b to stay at.Nothing was too much trouble for Derek or Darren who were the friendliest people you could hope to meet..I'd highly recommend staying here for a Manor House wedding or for Enniskillen.…
Stayed at longfield with Derek and Shirley after attending a family function in nearby Hotel. Derek and his wife Shirley give us a very friendly reception and made our stay even though it was for one night very pleasent and could not fault the comfort of the bed. There was 10 of us in total and all enjoyed our stay and full Irish breakfast and I even got to taste Derek's home made wheaten bread which I can add was lovely fresh and soft. A real Home from Home experience with good hot water and showers in en suite. Hope to stay again and maybe get to have a dram with Derek next time. 10 out of 10 in my book. Thanks again Derek and Shirley. Tom.
Relaxed approach, by owner Derek, who is warm friendly and helpful. Great accommodation, clean, comfortable and handy to Manor House Hotel. Super value and breakfast is traditional fry, more than enough to set you up for the rest of the day. Derek provided taxi numbers and delivered us back to hotel next morning to collect car. So if your going to a wedding in the nearby Manor House and want value and top class accommodation give this place a go.
On arrival Derek was warm and friendly and he allowed us to occupy the top floor. We were attending a wedding in the near by Manor House Hotel which is only half a mile away. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day as we wanted to visit Donegal and Killybegs on the second day. This guest house is ideally situated for touring Fermanagh and Donegal. Derek allowed us to use the lounge in the evening and provided tea and cake which was lovely. Great place to stay. David & Sandra Armagh: Kyle & Leanne Manchester Uk.
