the experience at rapture can easily be a social one for solo travelers looking for company or others to take surf lessons with. the camp is beautiful and so is the beach. bonus points for the two lovely and sweet dogs who live at the camp. you can surf in the mornings then relax at the pool, then go back out in the afternoon to catch more waves, it’s a great time. i would like to mention that when i first arrived, Pete, one of the surf guides, noticed my skateboard and offered to show me the skatepark that is in the next town over. that was a very lovely way to be welcomed to the camp.
Had an incredible month at Rapture Playa Avellanas. Was an amazing schedule, surf AM patrol, delicious breakfast buffet, hang with other international guest by the pool / get some work done w their great wifi, afternoon sunset surf, yummy dinner and repeat. Big shout outs to Vincent the camp manager along with the rockstar staff. Was always super helpful (ie. helping get my board ding fixed), and a blast to hang out with out with as well (dancing around bonfire in Tamarindo) It's a beautiful spot tucked away in the jungle walking to the surf everyday. I miss LUNA and IDA the camp doogies - can't wait to go back! Definitely the best value
The way Vinc and his team run the camp is unique. You can tell that they built the camp themselves and love being there. I felt welcome and comfortable right after the first day. A special "vibe" whether solo traveler, digital nomad (internet is perfectly sufficient for videocalls) or couples. The facility is high quality and super well maintained. You live in a green oasis surrounded by monkeys, lizards and colorful birds. The breakfast and dinner is super tasty, much and healthy. That for this price looks for its equal. Looking forward to the next time
I was lucky to have 3 weeks at the camp. I stayed in the double shared bathroom then was in the suite. Obviously there is room for every budget here. The dorm rooms are spacious, the double has a huge bed and cute little verandah shared bathroom with the 4 dorm which is totally fine. But the suite is THE BEST. I felt like I had my own little oasis in the jungle. Super peaceful and nice to have my own space and of course my own bathroom with hot water... luxury!! All of the the staff here make this place. Vincent is an absolute champion and really makes you feel so welcome like it’s your home away from home. Pete one of the the surf guides is full of knowledge to help improve your surfing and great fun to surf with! Artem, surf guide/yoga teacher/photographer etc etc has the most amazing positive energy and it shows in all that he does. Mathilde, beautiful soul in the kitchen and always so happy. All kitchen staff were amazing and the food was good too. Didn’t have to think about anything other than what time I was surfing, when should I eat and what time the yoga was.... my kind of holiday!!! Chilled, fun, good vibes and always a good bunch of people to vibe with. Thanks so much Vincent and everyone at Rapture!! X …
My stay at the rapture camp costa rica was amazing! The place itself was beautiful, clean and exposed to a beautiful scenery. The provided meals were very tasty and healthy. The Wifi is very good which allows good online working. The people at the camp are very easy going. Traveling alone, I had no problem of being integrated very fast. The host Vincent was very nice and helpful. When in need he’ll organize transportation for you. The surfing lessons were very good as well. What helped me the most was the video analysis offered by the surf guide Pete who does a great job of helping you improve your skills. I had a great time and would definitely go back again !!
