I stayed at the hotel one week. The hotel is beautiful, located near the town centre, although the walk to the centre or beach was dangerous, as it is a busy road, and there is no pavement for most of the way. The room was a good size, and clean, but very, very basic. There was no TV or radio, but there was a wifi, so it was ok. There was however no fridge as well. I thought that is would be nice to have a cold water or a juice late available when returning from the beach. I also travelled with the little kids, and had to have some snacks available, so I have bought some fruits and biscuits to leave in my room. My little ones are early risers so woke up hours before the breakfast was served. I thought it was very incoveninet without the fridge, and that I would mention it in my review, until one day I returned to a note that it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to eat any food in the room, signed 'La Directione'. utterly ridiculous. It was also strictly forbidden to eat anything anywhere else on the premises, not just in the restaurant. I didn't order food, but ordered drinks, and some wine. Thought the wine portion was half the size compared to wine ordered in town, so would not recommend the bar for the drinks. I also think a laundry line on the balcony with a few clips would be helpful for drying the swimwear and towels, as Corsica is a windy island, and some of my clothing, spread out on the chairs due to lack of another solution, were blown away by the wind. I would not described this hotel as suitable for staying a week or longer, as it is totally inconvenient, but it would be ok for a night or two.

We stayed four nights at this pretty, authentic Gite farmhouse. It was set slightly high overlooking the resort town of Ile Rousse, with its delightful little lanes of shops, bars and restaurants and busy marina full of boats and yachts. La Bergerie was a 5 minute drive or a fairly brisk hair raising walk of 15 mins due to virtually no pavement but we did walk a few times and survived. The swimming pool was lovely as was the other buildings and an open plan restaurant for dinners and breakfasts only (lunch could be purchased as a small snack at the pool but dont get too excited). We did have dinner one night which was very nice - limited menu. My room was a basic twin which was fairly cheap so I feel a little hesitant to be negatives. The room was quite depressing, no pictures on the white walls and basic hanging space cupboards. The door wall also had double glass doors which were kept shut as it led onto the courtyard with people passing. There was no other window but great AC. The bathroom was a fairly good size but very basic. The shower required updating, often it was purely a trickle and cold. If you wish to stay here, go for the rooms with terrace and beautiful views across town towards the sea. The views are gorgeous. We didnt go for breakfast as we are not the 'continental breakfast' kind but there is a rather nice area to sit, order hot drinks and eat some fruit which they are happy to allow. The staff/family that runs La Bergerie do a great job but they are always extraordinarily busy, rushing around with multiple jobs. This often doesnt make for a very relaxing holiday, especially when you feel you are interrupting when you need to request something. At times, one or two were extremely helpful and approachable. All in all, we liked the vibe and location but the basic rooms need addressing.

Nice hotel close to Ile Rousse's center. The hotel offers nice separate rooms in apartment houses, some of which have direct sea view. The rooms are big and comfortable. The bonus for animal lovers is an incredibly friendly black and white cat who adopted the area. Recommended - provided the owners adopt the cat too

We stayed in La Bergerie for 3 nights and had 2 double rooms (one for the children, one for us). The details: the rooms: The room for the children was in the newer part of the hotel and quite nice. Not too big but rather clean, nice bathroom, air condition. Our room was directly beneath but in the older part of the hotel and really not nice. Really small, rather dirty, looked like not used for a longer time. The breakfast: Simple but ok. Toasts (mostly a bit burned), croissants, bread, butter, jam. Tea, coffee, juice, that´s it. The place: Nice location with a superb panorama view over L´ile Rousse, about 20 minutes walking distance to the very nice city center. Beautiful courtyard inside, nice pool, free WLAN around the pool. The stuff: Nice & friendly, speak enough English to understand each other. Definitely a place to recommend if you get a new room, not really to recommend if you get an old one. Unfortunately there is also no price difference between the two types of rooms.
