my job brings me to Downton at least once a month and I've been fortunate to find this little gem in the village which is just gorgeous. Chris is a brilliant hostess and makes you feel very welcome in their home. The annexe is separate to the main house with your own key so you can come and go as... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here to celebrate a family event. The communication, welcome and accommodation was exceptional from time of booking to departure. The room and en suite were spotless and decorated to a high standard. The homemade cakes and biscuits , on arrival, were delicious. We had a very peaceful nights sleep in a... More

My husband and I stayed for four nights in the Annexe, it's a picture postcard cottage, situated right in the heart of a lovely country village. The bedroom/living room is a really good size, the bathroom has a great walk in power shower, (lovely after a long cycle ride!), we were lucky enough to have warm sunny days so could... More

We stayed at The Annexe for a night whilst we attended a wedding and it was lovely. Chris's communication from booking was really helpful, she made us feel extremely welcome when we arrived and played the perfect host throughout our stay. The room was spotless, great facilities and wonderful little touches including homemade biscuits and cake on arrival! Breakfast was... More

We (myself, my partner and our 5yr old son) stayed in the annexe for 2 nights to attend a friend's wedding in the village, and cannot praise this place highly enough! We were warmly greeted by Chris, (and some gorgeous homemade biscuits!!) and were made to feel right at home. Brilliant sized room, with a lovely en suite, and the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Annexe over our Granddaughter's Christening weekend which took place in the Village. On arrival we were very warmly greeted by Chris and met Glynn the following morning. The accommodation is lovely and spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble for either of them, it was very well complimented with a delicious full... More

The ensuite shower room was modern with good shower & lovely toiletries, only 1 hand towel supplied, everywhere else we have stayed there has... More

We have stayed here twice now. This is a self contained ensuite room attached to Cymbeline Cottage. It has its own entrance so you can come and go as you please. It is spotlessly clean, the beds (double and a single) are comfy, the room is a good size and warm. Although the cottage is on the main road through... More

I sometimes think Tripadvisor reviews use 'excellent' too lightly, but in this case it's absolutely deserved. The owner, Chris, greeted us with tea and homemade scones, the room was large and well furnished with real attention to detail, the shower was great, the beds comfy, the breakfast fantastic (with homemade jams), and the price very very reasonable. Although the b&b... More
