This was our 2nd visit to Loulass Village and a celebration visit too , from day 1 we where not disappointed haven been given our beautiful requested rooms over looking the pool , and as always Costas Joanna Maria marina Alex and the rest off the staff did an impeccable job keeping their guests fed and looked after with great care and dedication. I will cherish the great times we have had on our two weeks holiday and would highly recommend this safe haven and total paradise to anyone who just wants to chill down and relax from the world off work and daily routine, you’ll come away feeling the benefits. Thank you again for everything ❤️ From Charmaine &, Declan ❤️
A great holiday had by the entire family in a great apartment! We arrived very late at night at 2330 (ish) and was welcomed by Joanna and guided to our room. Room was nice upon arrival and a tight squeeze for 5 but we knew this prior to booking. We had a drink in the bar before bed which was pleasant with a nice lively atmosphere. The next morning we were blown away by the views in the day light- absolutely stunning views as per my attached pics. The hills and the sea looked so nice and they are what I miss the most as I sit writing this review the day after my holiday. It came evident in the coming days that everyone here seems to know each other and I’d say 95% of the guests during our stay were Irish and had been coming here for years. The only time I found this odd was when speaking with locals at restaurants or when booking our boat trip, comments were made when asked where are we staying? like; “you don’t sound Irish” or “you must be Irish if you’re staying there!?” It was evident there was a bit of a “click” with everyone in the bar and around the pool but understandable as per my comment above. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk to glorious restaurants, bars, shops and stoney beaches. We hired a car from the hotel to get to the other side of the island where the beaches are sandy and much nicer, in my opinion that is! The Messonghi beach is certainly very popular and beautiful but we just don’t like the stones. The good things about here: -Excellent staff offering excellent service who strive to always help and assist. I had a minor accident in the room when a shower door came off and their response to this was second to none! Offered first aid and new shower curtain sorted right away. -Well kept pool which is clean and maintained with good quality sun beds which were always available. It does lose sunshine in 50% of the pool by 1700 and it’s gone by 1830 across the entirety of the pool area. -lovely bar area with excellent standard of food for a pool bar. - Regular towel changes. Although we did often only get 4 fresh when their were five of us. - The balcony views are outstanding! - Car hire at hotel available at a reasonable rate. Very handy so you don’t need to arrange pick up and drop offs etc. - Very clean and well kept. It’s clearly been modernised and the grounds are lovely. So, the not so goods and the reason it’s not a 5 star review from me! - Rooms only have enough in there for 4. 4 chairs, 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 knives, 4 glasses, 4……… etc. we had 5 of us. - The Irish are very wonderful, friendly and welcoming. However, because of the “click” with everyone and people coming here forever it felt different for us. The first night in the bar when we had only just arrived, we asked for a drinks menu and Alex (barman) muttered something to a group at the bar followed by lots of laughter. Other nights he would be shouting things like “one by one” which would follow with bursts of laughter from the bar. We would hear this from our balcony some evenings! Clearly this is just a negative for us as everyone else seemed happy! We just did not get the joke perhaps. - my main gripe for the entire holiday was losing/misplacing/having stolen a £160 pair of brand new Ray Bans which were a birthday gift from my wife just before the holiday. I wore them to the bar one evening when we decided to stay for the act and dine there. We were the first there and the sun soon went so glasses came off. I don’t know where these went and Kostas did mention he had not seen me with them, but in the pic included they are seen hooked into my t- shirt. I remember seeing them on the table and thinking; “I must not forget them!” We only went there that night and back to the room. The next day I asked around and nothing handed in which is a real shame. So a guest took them, knowing they were not their’s and in my book that is theft. It left a sour taste in my mouth all holiday and we never drank or dined in there in an evening again. A shame as the food was nice, well cooked and of good quality. We had another 11 nights left and instead went to the other restaurants around. We’d like to have finished with a drink here but we just went to the balcony instead. To conclude, we had a great holiday and I wish I was still there! I’d recommend a visit and I would happily return and Kostas certainly knows how to run a tight ship to a good standard. The staff are really helpful and friendly. If you read my review to decide whether to book I hope it’s helped and I hope you do as it’s worth a visit. But be careful of valuables in the bar at night!…
Lovely, small, family run hotel. Spotlessly clean rooms. Incredible sea view. Friendly staff, great food and a nice walk to the village if needed. Will be back for sure. Don't know how anyone could give this place less than 5/5 in a review ! Liam / Dublin
What to say....second visit to Corfu, first time here. A truly lovely place with the awesome Costas at the helm. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his amazing team, even my husband, 17 yr old son and myself arriving nearly two hours late (thanks Tui transfer team) at almost 2am in the morning!!! Clean and functional apartment..we asked for a quiet one and we got one..Great little restaurant and poolside area, meticulously maintained and there were always sunbeds available!!!! Honestly!!! Costas does not agree with towels left on beds overnight, his team clean the beds rigorously every evening and he also advises he will remove towels if the sunbeds haven't been used by midday. If only more hotel owners were like him!! Sadly due to our ridiculous return flight times and really late transfer (thanks again, Tui) we missed one of the absurdly popular Greek nights. The food served was delicious, reasonably priced, plenty of alcoholic and soft drinks...if you needed help, advice, car hire, taxi etc, Costas was on it. A seriously awesome man with a similarly great team. He even made sure our formula 1 mad son could watch the grand prix in the bar!! This place is wonderful, a home from home and we had a wonderful time....Do try this place, you won't be disappointed!!! A few tavernas close by, 15 minute walk along a fairly flat road (two small slopes) to the bustling village and beach of Messonghi with its lovely beach, tavernas and supermarkets. A fantastic holiday thanks to a fantastic man and his team.…
Just back from a very enjoyable week in Loulass Village. My first time in Corfu, but it won’t be the last probably because of this place. From the time we arrived until the time we left service was excellent. Apartments are what you expect from self catering, clean and functional but we didn’t spend a lot of time in them other than for sleeping. It’s the people that really make this place. Joanna, Costas, Alex, Maria and Sofia all go out of their way to make you feel at home. A few people had told me before going out that it was a home from home and it really was, which is down to the staff who miX well with the adults and kids. We went with another family but we all mixed with other guests. The bar felt like drinking in your local, except it was outside in the sun! Food was very good for self catering, as my past experience with self catering is a pool bar serving nuggets and chips. Loulass have a day and evening menu with a wide selection and reasonably priced. We are there 3 nights out of 7 but I would not have been disappointed if I had to eat there 7 nights. The pool area is nice. The beds have cushions that you usually only find in 4/5 star hotels, and we never had any problem getting a bed or umbrella. I often left my wallet, phone etc on my bed and was never worried about them being lifted. It just felt like that kind of place. Messonghi Town is about 1.2km. It’s similar distance to my local Al wasn’t really an issue for us. Just walking back at night, make sure you have your torch on your phone on, although the cars don’t drive fast. There are some nice restaurants in there, again all well priced. If you are into your wide selection new world wines and craft beers / ales like me, you might be disappointed. The selection in Messonghi is largely limited to Greek wines and beers and perhaps Heineken most places. Corfu airport was also a bit chaotic but I had been warned if this. Both of these were minor issues and wouldn’t stop me returning to Loulass. Thanks again Joanna, Costa’s and team. Hope to see you again. David…
After recently returning from a 10 day stay at Loulass (Our first ever) i thought I would write a review. We were initially worried we might not fit in with there being so many regulars returning year after year, but this simply wasn't the case. We were made to feel welcome, all the families who were there were friendly and its a very relaxing atmosphere. Many reviews are written on Kostas and I have to say, we were equally impressed, from finding us cheaper car hire, to telling us where to visit/best local excursions etc he was brilliant. Likewise the rest of the loulass team were friendly and helpful. This is a very quiet hotel with a relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful village with incredible sea views. It is not a clubbing/party location and if thats what you're after, I would look elsewhere. If you are looking for, as we were, a relaxing, authentic Greek location with Tavernas and bars and beautifully surroundings, this is your place. The walk into Messonghi takes around 15 minutes each way, or you can hire a car or taxi if you're not able to. Personally, we enjoyed the walk and its not difficult for those who are able. The only thing I would say could be improved is the apartment was lacking enough plates/cutlery/cups to be able to actually effectively self cater beyond breakfast and lunch. There is no oven or microwave and only a 2 ring hob on the counter. For us, this wasn't an issue as we never intended to cook anyway, but for those who do, bear this in mind. It would be better if the apartment had a better stock of basic kitchen items. Beyond this though, if you want a quiet, relaxing holiday, book Loulass. As with many others, we are now looking to return!…
The beautiful Loulass a home away from home. This was my 3rd visit an certainly not the last, I would like to thank Costas,Maria, Alex the beautiful Johanna and the lovely Marina and Sophia. As always it was pleasure staying here, the hospitality and welcome are the best you will find, the apartments are spacious and spotlessly clean as always, the food is excellent, and nothing is too much bother. Costas and the barman Alex are great with the guests on an evening basis while Johanna looks after everyone during the day with Maria , it’s like one big family and there is a chat for everyone weather you are new or returning. Going to plan my next trip soon
Definitely a place I will be returning to. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful and there is a very welcoming atmosphere. There is a wide selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the rooms are good for a big family. Definitely a place I will be going back to if I. Ever want to go to Greece
I have visited Loulass village now for over 30 years Psara Messonghi and it is still as beautiful as ever , very relaxing surroundings. A short walk up a tarmac road is a beautiful fish restaurant, literally 3 minutes walk from Loulass village. You can then carry on the walk into Messonghi where there is a lot more bar's and restaurants to experience all the beautiful meals these are all close to the beach. The hospitality you receive is always incredible from Costos Marie Loulass Spiros and Yannis, they have a wonderful way of inviting you into there holiday village, always willing to accommodate your every need, nothing is too much trouble for them. Greek nights and BBQ are excellent fun too !! Thank you again for a fabulous stay! Patricia xx
This was our first holiday since 2018 and post covid. We picked Loulass based on reviews and we could get here from our local Norwich airport. This was our first ever visit to Corfu and hopefully not our last and if we do come back Loulass Village will be high on our priority as it is very well run by Costas and his family and team of staff, nothing is too much trouble. I emailed prior to arrival asking for a top floor room and Costas gave us room 412 which having dragged our cases up I was regretting asking for one up top, but the views made it all worth while and we were away from any pool/bar noise. The room (apartment) was spotless with kitchen/dining/living area, bedroom and bathroom, plus as I said a balcony with stunning views. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of plates, utensils etc but we only used the kettle, fridge and toaster. The pool area is very well maintained and there were plenty of sunbeds for the amount of people using it. Next to the pool is the bar/dining area and the menu varies from a lunchtime to an evening one, and all the food we tried was delicious. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away and it is a bit of an up and downhill slog both ways in the heat, so if you are not very mobile then probably best to get a taxi. The supermarket (3K) is about the same distance as the first part of the beach, and a few yards further on is a bakery and another supermarket, and the prices to vary slightly in the supermarkets so best to check each before you buy. There are 3 Restaurants very close by (Dionysos, George and Elenas and THe Fishermans Haunt all within a 3 minute walk (reviewed separately) and The Mermaid is about 10 minutes away, everything else is nearer the beach end of things. Would I go back, absolutely yes, and I can't thank Costas et al for making our stay such a pleasant one. Thank you all - Dave and Pat…
