Estbek house was recommended by a friend and it certainly exceeded our expectation! A warm welcome greeted us as we choose pre dinner drinks at the bar. We were seated at our table and enjoyed a complimentary appetiser soup which was absolutely delicious. Smoked salmon and smoked chicken salads were popular starters and Whitby cod with crayfish was a hit...

Estbek House came highly recommended to us by friends who had visited on a number of occasions so we decided to accompany them for a pleasant Sunday trip to the coast. This was our first visit to Sandsend a lovely small village just outside Whitby. The hotel only has 4 rooms and as we were the only guests staying that...

We had a lovely relaxing weekend here. The food and service were superb and they catered perfectly for my gluten-free needs and an off-piste wine request. Special mention for Jeanette - waitress par excellence! Spot on!

Having re-read my review of three years ago, all the positive comments I made about the service and the welcome remain the same. I cannot faut these. We had the starter of whitebait and plaice goujons to share which were excellent in beautifully light batter, and the selection of desserts was also excellent. However, I felt that the main course...

.... & I'm so pleased we did. I have often visited Sandsend and this little beauty has often caught my eye. Whether it be the mouth watering sample menu posted outside or just the draw of 'Estbeck House'. It's quaint setting - set back off the road at mouth of the bridge... it just says come and visit. So we...

The food is sublime and the knowledge of the...

Only stayed one night but should have stayed longer ! Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. Staff all really lovely . Star of the show is the food. The best meal I've had in a long while. The portions were generous and all freshly cooked. Lovely ambience and the pretty village of Sandsend on the doorstep. It's literally 100...

Eskbek House was recommended and we weren't disappointed. We will definitely return on our next trip to Whitby and Sandsend. Booking is advisable and next time I will ask to sit in the window which has a good view of the bay.

What a great place! Super location right by the beach, really delicious food and perfect, friendly service. We loved it! Our room (Nora) was small but very cosy and comfortable and we loved that we could hear the sea even with the windows shut and the shutters closed. It felt like being in a ship! Supper was really delicious, served...

Dad and I visited this restaurant through a friend's recommendation. We both had the plaice and it was delicious. The food, staff and ambience made our evening truly memorable. We will definitely visit again as the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you!
