The accommodation was comfortable with good sized rooms. However it was spoiled by the very unwelcomming owners who couldn't be bothered to even acknowledge you on arrival. We had had a 6 hour journey and arrived hot and tired. We were not offered a drink! I would never stay here again!!

We booked this guesthouse to chill for a few days after 2 weeks of holidays and immediately after climbing Adams Peak. We were really hoping for a nice, clean and comfortable place to rest and let his guesthouse exceeded our expectations completely! We had a beautiful, simple but tastefully decorated room (eye friendly white grey and brownish colour scheme )...

Spent there 4 nights. Basic rooms but clean and absolutely worth the money. Nice balcony to relax in the afternoon. Friendly family running the place but one day when the owner and his mother who mainly run this place where out of the house there was some misunderstanding and no dinner served as no-one of the rest of the family...

Mr Amarassinghe could not have done enough to make our stay in Haputale worthwhile. A very interesting town and this home is awesomely welcoming with his wife cooking some of the best food we tried in Sri Lanka. Thank you so much

The guesthouse is well located in a quiet hillside location with good views, yet close enough that you can walk to the town (10-15 min). The rooms are daily basic but still good value at the price. The host was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the takeaway sandwiches we got for our breakfast which were awful.

This family run guest house is an excellent choice in Haputale, as it has been for many years. Good location, very high up in pleasant gardens, was quiet and peaceful during our visit last August. The wonderful views which had been previously are no longer possible due to tree growth, but nevertheless, the air is fresh and cool, as you...

This is definitely a solid option if you're ever looking for a place in Haputale. We love hiking so we based ourselves in Haputale for four nights, and Amarasinghe was a nice relaxing place to come back to after a long day of walking. Hot showers with good water pressure, nice clean comfortable beds, home cooked curries, quiet yet accessible...

If you are looking for a quiet place, extremely clean, with a friendly family atmosphere, you will like Amarasinghe. Wonderful home cooked dinners by the owners mum, and cosy comfortable rooms with nice balconies, it was outstanding value. They were very helpful with telling us all the best local walks, and arranged a trip and Safari to Uda Walawe in...

The guest house is in a good location made more pleasant by the Amarasinghe family's surrounding gardens. The guest house was a quick tuk tuk ride from the station and located with views out over the tea plantations and up towards Lipton's Seat. Make sure that you leave enough time for the short early morning walk to see the sun...
