L’Avenc is a family home with self-catering cottages, studios and rooms with wonderful views and delicious breakfasts and evening meals. We can cater for business retreats as an unique revenue that will enliven your work team. Yoga retreats, and small family celebrations are welcome. Awarded first prize in Responsible tourism in 2013, we started by restoring the 13th-16th century masia in 1997, where we lived until 2016, to its former glory, have introduced renewable energy in the form of solar panels and a wind generator, and are currently running the cattle farm and co-managing the area of outstanding natural beauty with the trust: Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera. We finished our new wing (May 2013) and offer from that moment simple rural comfort and delicious breakfasts. We are open nearly all year round and are committed to keeping the countryside beautiful and visitable, keeping small villages alive, employing local residents and to enhancing and supporting animal welfare.

We have been coming to this extraordinary place for many years. The levels of comfort, standard of accommodation are always excellent and the family that built and run it make one feel so welcome. But the stand out win this time was the new restaurant! Dinner every night is a bonus, and what a dinner. The presentation is outstanding and the fresh veg from the L’Avenc gardens was prepared beautifully, meat was perfectly cooked and it was excellent value. The service was charming and prompt. We would always have come back, but this restaurant means more regular visits. And I have not even mentioned the VIEWS!

A very special place. Perched high (1,000m above sea level) on a 300ft escarpment looking across to unbroken forested hills with wonderful wildlife everywhere - this is where we came to unwind. Two days and nights in the quiet solitude of this beautifully restored old masia made us feel fully restored. Great walks (after an excellent breakfast) in every direction followed by lunch in the Michelin starred Can Jubany just outside the neighbouring historic town of Vic before returning for an equally excellent dinner at l'Avenc from Carlos, one of the two resident chefs. Could not recommend more highly…….and we have stayed several times.

Thank you for this review, it's very satisfying to have repeat guests! We love to be seen as "somewhere different", it is as at the end of the day a family-run project, our home, and we aim to keep that personal touch. We really appreciate your comment on our dinner service, it's relatively new so feedback is very helpful to steer us in the right direction.

Stayed overnight at L´Avenc while on a bike tour in the region. Very warm welcome and happy to accommodate my bike. Fabulous, varied vegetarian dinner and breakfast served without a fuss in what is truly a stunning location. Was a perfect stop over on my tour. I will certainly go back with family and friends.

Our third time here and that says it all. The hotel is a gem, all very solid, this starts already when entering the impressive underground parking. Off-grid and fully powered by renewable energy but 100% comfort. The views into the valley are amazing, hiking is wonderful around the cliffs and the cows salute you in a very relaxed manner. The restaurant finally has a good cook (September 2020) with a surprising set-menu that changes every day and decent wines. Excellent service and COVID-adapted but without any hassle. Breakfast is also very nice and complete (no buffet anymore but staff will gladly fill your plate again). Much recommended destination, stay at least 2 nights, one is simply too short to enjoy this fantastic hotel and unique location.

We stayed in 2 of the great cottages on site, took advantage of the fabulous weather to explore the countryside, and had a fantastic time in the indoor pool with jacuzzi. Belinda and staff really friendly and helpful, and the young boys loved Kiera the dog!! What a fabulous place to spend some time as a family, and we will definitely return with family and/or friends as soon as we can!
