Lovely family-owned hotel in wonderful location overlooking the beautiful village of Calella de Palafrugell in Catalunya. Maybe only 1* but good though basic rooms and facilities. No air conditioning, maybe one of the reasons for the 1* rating. Terrace restaurant serves great local food throughout the day. Two short holidays there this summer, and will definitely return next year!
We came here last year with our grandchildren, this year with friends. Everything we said last year is still the same. Our friends were very happy we had taken them there. Best view in Calella. Excellent ambience. Would definitely return.
We have visited this hotel on numerous occasions for a lovely dinner . Unfortunately tonight I waited for my starter and it came when everyone in the party had finished .I was so upset as this is the first time this has happened . When it came I refused it. The steaks were also undercooked but to be fair they cooked them some more but the fries were now cold. Very disappointing ☹️
Lovely family run hotel right near the beach. We have just spent a fabulous week at the Hotel la Torre. Such a friendly welcome after a long drive through France into Spain. We had a fantastic 1st floor room with a terrace overlooking the spectacular bay.Large airy room and a huge double bed. Bathroom very big with a tub and a shower. Daily maid service was spot on with fresh towels and bed made for you. Breakfast on the terrace was the best we have ever had. Didnt use the hotel restaurant but had fantastic tapas in the 3 Pins bar attached to the hotel. We even had a free bottle of Cava served to our room for our wedding anniversary, we were so surprised as our daughter must have told the hotel. Would not hesitate to go back here.
It doesn't matter how many stars La Torre is rated. We've stayed in 5-star hotels and not enjoyed the same warmth of welcome as we enjoyed here. It is family owned and family run and it shows. They look after their young staff - and it shows. They take pride in what they do - and it shows. OK, the comfortable rooms are small but have nearly everything you need (but a kettle and some tea would be nice) and if you want extra pillows, just ask. The TV has lots of channels but not many that Brits would want to watch - the same as in 99% of other Euro hotels. The breakfast is simple but adequate (went a bundle of the orange juice squeezy machine) and anything extra you want they will fetch pronto. But the location is the knockout feature. A broad terrace bar with lots of sofas & chairs you don't have to fight for, stunning views over the bay and the sea, service that never takes long. Take a book, apply lots of lotion, order the G&Ts and live with this delightful hotel's idiosyncracies. It's not expensive and we will go again.…
