Diving is very expensive here. 3,500 php for two dives although it was good . Open water a staggering 24,000 for padi. Resort is very dated and really needs some tlc. We stayed four nights and couldn't wait to leave. Nothing to do at all. You can't walk round the island too many dogs. Went for the diving and that...

Balicasag Island Dive Resort is 30 - 45 minutes by boat from Panglao Island. It is a marine life sanctuary in Bohol and divers will surely have a lot of fun there....saw a clown fish and lots of other school of fish. I had fun snorkeling:):)): The cottages and restaurant though are not very presentable. The government should allocate funds...

What I liked... The resort itself is located right by the beach (it is a coral beach - not white sand) and consists of small cottages. The cottages are well appointed - they are made of bamboo, but are large, have a soft big bed, air con and a good spacious CR. The views were absolutely fantastic - postcard photos!...

It's much better than Alona area, good location for snokling/diving. The only problem is food. Food is really bad, and no other choice for this island. The owner is the Philiipines goverment, so all the staff don't want to work. Special for the dive master, they don't want to dive with you. They prefer one day one dive if you...

My wife and I discovered Balicasag island and its fish sanctuary while spending a week vacation in 2008 on nearby Panglao Island at Alona Beach. We were amazed at the extraordinary marine life of the place (corals, fishes, turtles) and made twice the 45 minutes boat trip from Alona Beach (around 1000-1500 peso) to enjoy snorkeling there. In 2011, we...

My family and I went on a day trip to Balicasag to do some snorkeling. Lovely island teeming with colorful marine life. Only, we did not know that the meal which was included in our tour package was going to be served in a spot where there were no facilities - i.e. there was no decent washroom. :o( We were...

We stayed 4 nights at Balicasag island dive resort as we wanted to qualify as PADI open water divers... the dive centre on the island is no longer PADI affiliated but has contacts on nearby Panglao island and arranged at no extra charge for a PADI instructor to be stationed here for the couple of days that it took. Accomodation...

The expense of coming to and returning from Balicasag Island by boat added significantly to the cost of staying there. Our return trip, which we arranged through the resort, was 1000 pesos. It seemed inefficient that we always had to take a boat by ourselves when more people could have ridden in one boat, dividing the cost and reducing carbon...

I came here after a trip to Cabilao island after Christmas 2010. This island is definitely remote! The room accommodations were average. The room was a bit musty, that feeling you get at the beach. On the plus side there was air conditioning in each room. The diving here though was much better than Cabilao, we managed to see A...

Balicasag island dive resort - Highly recommended for people who like to relax, do nothing, snorkel and dive. Not recommended for people interested in nightlife and entertainment. Landing at Tacbilaran airport is an experience in itself, as you see southern Bohol fringed with corals - then your plane nearly touches the coconut trees.. and voila - you land in the...
