Barbara was a lovely host, welcoming and helpful with travel tips. Being a croft house the two bedrooms are upstairs which if only a couple, Barbara only takes one booking. Therefore you get personal service. The house itself is unique and very fitting in style for the Isle of Skye. Breakfast was very filling, and after Barbara prepared the breakfast...

One of the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed in. Barbara, our host, couldn't do enough to make us comfortable. Our bedroom had all the facilities to make for a very comfortable stay. There are two bedrooms which is ideal if you want to holiday with friends or just with family. Barbara did us proud for breakfast. There was...

We have stayed at Maltby several times and always had a warm and very friendly welcome. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for Barbara including getting up early to prepare breakfast and phoning up a local hostelry to ensure they did vegetarian food.

Usually one chooses accomodation to fit one's route, but in this case one fits the route around the accomodation - or at least we do! Ten minutes' drive from the Bridge and five from Broadford, Maltby is a traditional croft house of the type known as a 1 1/2. There are two very clean and comfortable bedrooms (a double and...

The worst of the b&bs we stayed in on our islands trip - despite being £20 more than the others we stayed in. Double bedroom was not very big and the pink telly was strange taste or unnecessarily camp? Not very suited to male visitors: only mirror is behind bathroom sink, so shaving tricky; neutral hand wash option would have...

Our first trip to Scotland was fabulous thanks to people like Barbara. She made us feel so welcome and like we were family. Breakfast was delicious and our room was clean, comfy and cozy with an amazing view of the loch. We had no difficulty finding her home because the directions were excellent and the location was great for exploring...

Barbara and Jack are very welcoming and you feel as though you are being invited into their home and not just to a B&B. Room we stayed in was comfortable with views over the loch and sunsets with full size bathroom next door. Everything you needed was provided. Breakfast was a delight and served in Barbara's kitchen, complete with homemade...

We decided to stay at Maltby (so named after one of the RAF pilots assigned to bombing Dams in Nazi Germany), after reading the elated reviews here on Tripadvisor. We were not dispappointed. What you get here is a personalized and hearty welcome, cosy and comfortable spotlessly clean rooms (we had booked the two of them, but Barbara, our hostess,...

We were looking for a weekend break at Easter (and for my partners birthday) to relax from what has been a stressful year so far (trying to sell flats, preparing for a baby, changes in the work place, etc). It didn't take long after leaving Aberdeen for the drive up for the troubles to start melting away, and certainly after...

We stayed four nights, rooms were very clean, warm and inviting, with a shared bath. Our group was from the same family, so this wasn't a problem. The home has a lovely view from almost every angle of the land around it, and owner Barbara was very helpful with directions and suggestions for us. She's a great cook, if you...
