We were in desperate need of 2 double rooms and that was the only available place close by so we just booked it. Not cheap, but rooms are great, breakfast was very good, even the the coffee was better than the brown tea you usually get in hotels, so can't fault that part. The reason i rate it down was...

the family had a lot of other (family) issues, but were at pains to avoid this interfering with our stay; very professional. Good comfy bed and nice quiet room [1] with excellent local sausages and bacon for breakfast. Well worth a repeat visit

A fantastic room facing the rear of the property. Warm and inviting even in November, even the view over the properties into the hill side was refreshing. The staff were more than willing to assist and help as needed. The breakfast was substantial and very tasty.

Family run business with clean rooms - No pets allowed which is a major plus around this region - in many of the lodgings you would not know what's been sleeping in your bed the night before - I love dogs but not slobbering around the dinner table or shedding hair in the bedroom. Wifi is intermittent but generally OK....

This is a friendly family run hotel which is really good value. The rooms are simply furnished and decorated and scrupulously clean. We had a delicious home cooked meal.- my husband said his steak was one of the best he'd ever eaten in a restaurant which, believe me, is praise indeed! We will be back .

Arrived on Saturday evening and was a little sceptical when I saw the outside.from the outside it still looks like a pub and began to think of possible noise. Was pleasantly surprised at the rooms (family room, son had own bedroom) . Rooms and bathroom spotless, comfortable and large. Had front room and no issues with noise or traffic. Breakfast...

Tried to book the Trewethen Hotel which I stayed in at 7 years ago and was good but was told only a family room available. Did notice that the Unicorn was owned by the same couple so assumed it would be up to a good standard. There was no single room available but went for a twin at a higher...

I stayed for 2 nights while attending a workshop at the nearby Minerva Gallery. Good choice of hotel, warm welcome and very comfortable room. Good choice on the menu for evening meal and excellent breakfast. Enjoyed my stay and would certainly visit again.
