Since 2017,Ive made luxury hotel stays a part of my life but only a select few have pulled on my heart strings+made me feel special like Bellingham Castle has. Its sister hotel Ballyseede Castle Hotel made me feel the exact same fuzzy way last year. Pulling into the grounds,I already knew it was exclusive when I had to ring a buzzer+give my name for the grand gates to open in front of me. As I parked up,not 1 but 2 friendly gentlemen approached my car to take my luggage in. I was then walked to my room, which I always think is a nice touch-Again this is something that stood out for me when I stayed at Ballyseede last year. A personalised plate of chocolates on my room table was a lovely surprise. All these little extras really make a world of difference when remembering your favourite hotel stays. On check-in+check-out, there were complimentary tea, coffee, scones, biscuits+cakes in one of the beautiful drawing rooms. Ive never seen this offered as a complimentary to your stay before+I think its a huge plus. It was very welcome.
After a walk around the grounds which are stunning with bridges, waterfall, rivers, various seating areas etc,I spent some time in the hotel Library. Later that evening,I had a 3 course meal as part of my package. The food was delicious needless to say. I had roasted red pepper+tomato soup for starter, chicken+chorizo roulade on a bed of rice+vegetables for mains and chocolate brownie for dessert, washed down with a very smooth rosé wine. This place oozes glamour yet not at all pretentious,in fact it was so relaxed,I was made to feel like I was amongst friends. Good staff is so important and the fact that I was greeted several times by my first name actually meant so much. They make you feel like a celebrity.
Im absolutely thrilled to give this place 5 stars from me and hope to be back very soon.

Attended a wedding here in December 2020 and what an amazing venue!! Not only is it a beautiful setting, but the service was just incredible. Upon arrival it was pouring rain and one of the staff came out to the car with an umbrella which was such a lovely touch - I was very grateful! The wedding was beautiful and with small numbers due to Covid restrictions, the team did so well to make it special. The meal was beautiful. I believe the beef is their speciality and it was absolutely perfect! All the little rooms are just beautiful and so nice to explore and there was biscuits, tea and coffee available in the Buttery kitchen all evening which was great. Bedrooms are all fabulous - lovely and comfortable. There was a tea and coffee station with take away cups when everyone was leaving the next morning, again a lovely touch.
I really enjoyed the stay here and will definitely be looking for an excuse to go back. The staff are definitely in the right industry here as nothing was any trouble at all, couldn’t fault a thing! Well done to the whole team!

My mum, my sister and I stayed on an overnight gourmet break for the August Bank Holiday. Every contact, from the booking to the leaving, was polite, effortless and focused on making you feel special. We were told to explore and enjoy all rooms. So many staff unobtrusively making sure we had everything that could make our stay as perfect as it could be. Every one was soo lovely to my mum who is 89, and my sister and I have another very beautiful memory of time spent with her in a luxury setting.
Thank you all.

We attended a wedding here, but did not stay overnight.
The hotel is approached by a long drive from St Mary’s Church so we were delighted that the Hotel Manager was there handing out umbrellas to the guests as it was very wet. There was a roaring fire in the entrance hall and many of the other rooms. Guests were encouraged to move on to other rooms via a champagne and canapé station so it didn’t get too congested in the first few rooms.
The canapés we’re delicious and a bit ‘different’ and we liked that they were served on individual slates so that everyone got their fair share - that is often an issue at weddings as some groups monopolise them.
The building was warm, comfortable and clean with plenty of quieter ‘breakout’ areas to escape the noise and catch up with family and friends.
The wedding banquet was an impressive operation, with guests being offered a choice of three different main courses on the day, so much better than having to choose ahead and then get something else on the day! We had one sea bass and one chicken supreme, both of which were delicious and the lamb looked wonderful. Everything was piping hot and vegetables were well cooked. As my other half has some food allergies, we were very impressed that the restaurant manager came to check that the food was suitable.
The whole day was very well organised and staff were all friendly and helpful. Well done!
There is a helpful video about the hotel on YouTube if you want to know more.

We just got married on 8th August at the greatest venue on earth! Ciara and Patrick and all the staff welcomed us and all our guests into a world of ease and seeming effortless care and attention to details. It started way back at the planning stage when Ciara helped us source a Church to do a Sunday wedding and brought us through all the details of the big day well in advance. We were blessed with great weather on the day and throughout the evening and since all our guests have raved about the food and service and in fact the entire Bellingham experience. We wanted to put on a good show for our friends and family and by all accounts Castle Bellingham batted the ball right out of the park, the best wedding by a country mile said one guest! A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for making our dreams come true!

We got married in Bellingham on 22nd December 2019.
Nothing but good to say about the whole experience from booking to planning to the day itself!
The team in Bellingham were amazing. No request was too big or too much effort, their attention to detail was unreal.

The Christmas lights and decorations in the rooms and on the grounds made beautiful settings for our ceremony and photos.
All our guests loved the whole day, they rave about the quality of the food and the service.
Every guest was so well looked after.

We’re happy to take the compliments but all the praise should go to the Staff and management in the castle.
Thanks so much for making it such a special day for our families and guests with memories that will last a life time.

Where do you start with this Castle, it is truly amazing beautiful surroundings, fantastic staff and management. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by and informed of the current restrictions which are adhered too. We're on a one night stay. Coffee and scones in the sitting room. Some pre dinner drinks in the garden before a fantastic dinner. A walk in the garden to stretch our legs. The rooms are all beautifully decorated. The staff are a credit to the venue and can't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one. Being a Irish castle it has 2 Irish wolfhounds patrolling the reception area. I've stayed in a few castles in Ireland but this one is by far the best .If you don't believe come and experience it for yourself. Thank you Bellingham Castle.

This has got to be by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. There is not one thing I could fault. The classy elegance while remaining relaxed and cozy. It was like being invited into someone’s home, the staff were welcoming, polite, warm and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious. The steps to comply with covid guidelines were all adhered in a way which was understated that it didn’t seem like a nuisance like it did in other hotels. The bed was super comfortable and the room fab. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the grounds beyond beautiful. I loved that we could just chill with tea in a lounge room while then moving onto a drinks reception outside in the wonderful courtyard and being served hugely generous canapés. This was an experience we will not forget and we so cannot wait to return for another break here.

Recently hosted my daughter's wedding at Bellingham Castle, after two years of Covid delays. Every element of the two full days was spectacular - from rehearsal dinner, to ceremony and reception, to farewell breakfast the day after. The castle is in pristine shape, the service is extraordinarily attentive, food over-the-top good, rooms are wonderful, grounds and gardens are perfectly manicured. The new boathouse rooms are a wonderful addition, and allow for a much larger group to be resident on the grounds, creating a very festive setting. I can't thank the staff enough for making our guests, who arrived from four different continents, all feel special. Not to mention the special attention given to the bride and groom. The word "no" is not in the vocabulary. What makes the venue unique is that it is exclusively yours, and you are made to feel that way from the time the gates open for you, until you are seen off by the staff. For a truly memorable and remarkable wedding experience, I cannot think of anywhere else I would recommend.

We can’t thank every single member of staff at Bellingham Castle enough for their professionalism, guidance and support over the last 3 years. Since booking our first wedding date, we had to make the difficult decision to plan many back up dates and postponements, they supported us every step of the way and we never felt like we were too much trouble.

The lead up to our wedding and the entire wedding day was seamless. We had many questions as we were planning our wedding from abroad and they were always prompt and helpful with every email that we sent.

We honestly still feel like we are the only people to have ever gotten married at the castle and that just goes to show what an amazing job they do in the atmosphere that they create and how they treat their guests.

From the moment our guests arrived, they felt completely at home being able to explore the beautiful castle grounds and relax in all the different rooms.

The food was exceptional and our guests are still talking about their amazing meal.

Ciara and the staff at Bellingham Castle can’t do enough for you, your glass never emptied and the service was like nothing we have ever experienced. A lot of our guests travelled from abroad and were blown away by the outstanding service and attention to detail. The staff in the late bar were extremely accommodating and kind - even at that hour!

We can not recommend Bellingham Castle highly enough. It was worth every postponement to have our day there and we are so overwhelmingly grateful that we did.
