After reading other travellers reviews me and my bf booked this hotel for 10 nights. Location is good to the town centre and the decent beaches on foot if you don’t drive. If you have a car 10-15 min away there are absolutely stunning beaches. Apart from location hotel was rubbish. 1. Breakfast was only a desert table, no proper breakfast or even any fruit. 2. The bed was as hard as a rock 3. We have asked for the balcony but didn’t get it. 4. The air con in the room you can only turn on or off no selection of temperature. Either freezing cold or you have to keep turning it off. 5. The wi fi says it is included but never worked even a single night. 6. If you like to sleep in on holiday the noise in the corridors really echoes, cleaners were really noisy in corridors, also there were drillings in adjacent rooms a few mornings. 7. And finally the shower pressure was so low that we had to use plastic bottles to fill in the sink to have a proper shower. Overall outdated hotel which cost us 100 euros a night but in fact it was worth 50 euros a night. If you want location yes not bad but the comfort of hotel itself very low... …
Hotel Riccio is in prime location, right by the front overlooking Rabbit Island, and close to all the bars and restaurants. It is a clean, modern hotel with the facilities one expects, but the bonus is a Manager who really cares and helps if you have any requests or difficulties. Our room had excellent wi-fi, lovely air-con, great view, a refrigerator, etc. You won't go wrong booking here!
If you are looking for decent value and location, this hotel does the trick. We had a balcony room overlooking the harbour. The rooms are serviceable, nothing special but what you would expect for a reasonable price. Breakfast is continental and is served in a small seated area next to the lobby. Not to be confused with the Mojito lounge on the other side. There is a supermarket and a tour guide on the same street, its also 5 mins from the town centre and 10 mins or so from beaches(these are walking distance). A decent hotel, competitively priced, in a good location.
On vacation in itatly a friend and I stopped by Porto Cesareo to enjoy the beautiful beaches, charming people, and the local pastery pasticcio. We found hotel riccio walking around the Port and enjoyed our stay tremendously! The resturant is amazing! You have to try the tagliate scampi, a real italian dish. The bar in the Back of the hotel is great after a long day swimming at the Beach! Get yourself a drink and chat with the locals and then enjoy a great nights sleep upstairs.
I have personally contacted the establishment's owner to place my booking and he was ever so kind to accommodate my requests, giving me a favourable discount on the master suite with sea view (offering me a much better rate then those found on the web). At our arrival there they were welcoming us with typical 'Salentino' style and familiar smile. The hotel has a very peculiar lay-out so at first we didn't think much of it. Then you start going through the first corridor into the lift and on each floor you find a long pathway through the several rooms. At the very end of the corridor our suite offered sleeping for up to 4 people, an incredibly spacious bathroom and a lovely balcony complete with table and chairs for those lazy sunsets on the way back from the beach. The view? To die for! Right opposite the hotel a small archipelago of islands surrounded by golden sand and crystal clear water. The only thing they need is to provide a mosquito net on their windows, even though the up and running air conditioning would make sure the little vampires would lay dead anyway! All in all a great experience, sure to be repeated very soon. Happy to have made friends with the owner's family and the hotel's lovely staff. And now let's get practical: the hotel is in perfect location, right at the centre of Porto Cesario, a stone throw away from all the amenities and night life. Several restaurants, bars and 'trattorias' mark your pace through the town and at night you even have a chance to buy some perfect fake branded bags along the harbour... And if you decide not to stay there all the time, Porto Cesario is only 20 minutes away from all the best beaches, such as Punta Prosciutto and Punta della Suina. The hotel will make sure you have guaranteed parking so make sure you drive on and discover the beautiful Salento!…
