We had 1 night here during our 3 weeks in Italy and enroute to Taormina. A most enjoyable stay. Lovely hosts, good accommodation and wonderful home cooked meals. I have found myself telling people about these home cooked meals more than any other during our vacation. Very authentically and lovingly prepared. The village of Morano Calabro was also a wonderful...

Mr. Vacca, his mother, and Tanya went out of their way to make our visit special. Upon arriving, Mr. Vacca wanted to take us on a "short" tour before dinner so I could take photos of the town. He wound up taking us into the Pollino mountains for amazing views. Let's just say we had quite an adventure that evening....

This hotel is in fact a typical ancient villa with a great view of the medieval town. The owner, Mr. Vacca, and his wife are excellent hosts and will come out of the way to please you. I would recommend booking it on a half-board basis because the food is superb and so is the locally produced wine. No objections...

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in July. I must say that this was one of the greatest hotel experiences we have had ever. The hospitality of the owner and the staff is unique. We had all meals during our stay at the hotel. Everything was home made and excellent prepared. The surroundings are also great for hiking,...

This hillside accommodation is comfortable and inviting with a feeling of intimacy and tradition. We were traveling with a group and the ground floors and outdoor tables provided ample opportunity for convivial socializing. We were located in the front portion of the building. Some of our group that were placed in rooms at the back of the hotel or across...

I just returned from a two-week ancestral vacation in Calabria, southern Italy. Exploring Cosenza Province was important to me as this was where my Nana Caterina was born in 1889. I stayed at the Villa San Domenico for several days when I was in Morano Calabro and it proved to be an incredible spot in an historical town that helped...

The Villa is built into the hillside and is a really delightful building. The ground floor consists of a series of adjoining rooms; a lounge with a wooden fire, a small dining area with old wooden tables, and a bar area. Plenty of antique furniture and very atmospheric. The walls are covered with quirky paintings by the same artist. Little...
