We visited this hotel in 2009 when our children were young. It was great then and it still holds to be a stellar hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We were headed to Galway for dinner but were too tired to get back iin the car. Loved our dinner at the hotel. Food and drinks were excellent. Breakfast was delicious too. Can't wait to return some day.
Great stay. Comfortable room and short walk to attractive harbour and seafront. Excellent staff and food. 20 min drive to Galway, longer in traffic. Evenings, eat in hotel. Brilliant pizzas, burgers etc in bar and West, fine dining superb. Breakfasts better than any hotel we have stayed in! Amazing choices Inc duck confit with poached egg and wild rabbit with rosti and fried egg, truffle oil. Bakery products from own shop. Perfect.
After travelling across Ireland and finding the country, people and places to be absolutely wonderful, the Twelve and Galway was our final stop. Galway was lovely - unfortunately The Twelve was not. The room was damp, and a fragrance was used to cover the smell. The bar staff, and restaurant staff were rude, arrogant and unhelpful - avoid both and go into the Latin quarter for a great experience instead of being treated poorly. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. I would not recommend staying and would look elsewhere.
Our first night stopover on our 14night road trip from Galway up the Wild Atlantic Way. Fabulous hotel in every way. Good location about 15minutes drive from Galway, directly on the main road and 5 minutes' walk from the Barna harbour. Possibly the best appointed hotel room that we have stayed in. Fabulous bathroom with good & plentiful toiletries, mood lighting, seaweed for a soothing bath, dressing gowns & slippers. Excellent hospitality tray. Safe, Fridge, good wifi & TV, and a very comfortable kingsize bed. We ate in The Pins Gastro Pub which was excellent with good atmosphere, friendly & attentive service and a great menu. Breakfast also in the same location was also fabulous. Staff throughout were super friendly & helpful. I cannot fault the Twelve Hotel and would highly recommend it.…
Great location & well appointed hotel with lively bar & good quality food. Staff are friendly & efficient. It’s located within easy reach of Galway city & is an ideal base for exploring Connemara. Electric car chargers are available.
Looking for a quiet weekend, didn't find it. was a wedding or something and the Bass rattled or windows Until like 1 am. the host and the manager were great. The wait and host staff not so much. Went to the West for diner when it had just opened. The was not a soul in the place. We went upstairs to see if we could find a place to eat. Came down at 5:30pm and the restaurant was still empty. We were willing to eat at 5 pm. the next day I went down to the bar downstairs and stood for 15 minutes before someone inform me that it would be1.5 hours for a table.it was supposed to be 1st come, 1st, served but they had a wait list that some had called ahead. Ou host was on his phone a good bit. It didn't seem to have much to do with the restaurant. We waited a half hour and decided to go somewhere else and as we were walking out the door there stood our host still on his phone. We went back to Spice and had another good Indian meal …
Excellent hotel. Very comfortable room. Brilliant staff throughout. Great for dog owners. Location was perfect for visiting Galway, Connemara, Aran Islands (although a bit of a trek to the Cliffs of Moher). Breakfast and dinner in the Pins restaurant / bar were excellent - I'm struggling to recall eating a better pizza anywhere. Great selection of wine - the Malbec was fantastic. We were slightly underwhelmed by the fine dining restaurant in our last night though - but perhaps we'd just reached our limit after ten days of fantastic Irish hospitality. From the awards on display throughout the hotel it is clear that our experience was a reflection of a really well-managed hotel with a brilliant approach to its customers.
We booked this as a stop over before travelling to Dublin from the West Coast and a night in Limerick. The room was large with wooden floors. The hotel is five mins walk from a lovely fish restaurant by the sea.
Friendly and helpful staff who were prepared to go the extra mile made our holiday. Spacious rooms and slightly quirky decor meant that we felt that we were not just being 'processed'. The West restaurant was a culinary experience and worth a visit in its own right. The hotel also had car charging points which was a real bonus.
Charming hotel with luxurious rooms, excellent restaurants and bar, and outstanding service located in the heart of Barna, a short drive from Galway. Full breakfast included, good enough to satisfy the most exacting palate (think duck and rabbit based versions of eggs Benedict). West, the hotel’s restaurant, has Michelin rating. Excellent value for the quality of lodging and amenities.
