We stayed in the Tallet with our 2 young children (5&2) over the October Half Term. Sally and Rob were brilliant hosts, welcoming us with a delicious home-made cake and freshly laid eggs from their hens. Our kids loved staying in the cottage, feeding the hens and collecting the eggs was a big highlight. And the garden with tonnes of... More

Thank you very much for your review of Lone Oak, ruthnrosie. I'm glad Lone Oak fulfilled your requirements and provided a warm and relaxing place to return to whilst you were busily working at the Bath & West Showground, just 5 miles away. I hope you will return to explore the other delights of the area! More

We stayed in Lone Oak cottage as as a family. Very comfortable, with 2 bathrooms and free WiFI, a must with 2 teenagers! It's a great place to explore the surrounding area, only about 30 mins from Longleat. The cottage is situated in the corner of a field, the only neighbours were cows! The main house is a short walk... More

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Lone Oak, our three bedroomed ground floor cottage. The cows enjoyed having you as neighbours too! The heated outdoor pool is always a favourite with families when it's open, in June, July & August. I hope we may see you here again. More

This is a beautiful cottage (with a pool) in an idyllic location in a captivating county. We stayed at Clanville Manor with 2 small children. Our journey down to Somerset was plagued with traffic jams so we were not there for our Asda delivery but Sally the owner was wonderful and met the delivery, even putting it all away for... More

We stayed here (tallet cottage) for a week at the beginning of July 2016. The cottage was excellent and well equipped. We even managed a dip in the pool which was lovely and warm. Location wise it is in a great spot to explore Somerset and beyond. We had day trips to Bath, Weymouth, Glastonbury and Longleat Safari park. Sally... More

We stayed in the Lone Oak cottage for a long weekend, family group included 19 month old grandson. Sallie provided everything we needed - cot, high chair, baby bath and loads more. He loved feeding the chickens, watching the tractor, making friends with the cats, although he drew the line at the cows! His best thing though was seeing the... More

I must be frank and say that I didn't have high expectations of this 1950s bungalow. But I was very wrong. It's in a great spot, with a wonderful view from the back garden (and the back bedroom, propped up in bed with the double doors open) across the field to the oak itself. We checked with Rob that it... More
