Aizuya Inn was a really cheap place to spend the nights in Tokyo. It didnt give off a hostel feeling at all. The place itself was really clean, it smelled nice due to the incense being used by the staff. The staff itself was really helpful and gave a pleasant mood to the place. You can choose private rooms or...

I like everything about this Inn except having to pay 100yen for every 5min shower. And also the toilet bowl with bidet is only available at ground floor. The best part is having one room all to yourself is very convenient and comfy. However the heater didn't work really well at first, needed the help from owner.

Tight space to sleep in and not the most central location (if it was just a bit more southwest then that would be ideal) but besides that it was a very pleasant stay with good facilities, good hosts, and good prices (for Tokyo)

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed it very much. It is a very cosy place where you can have your own privacy but also be very social with other guests at the same time. The showers were incredible best ive been in on my 3 month trip! Only problem we had was the clothes dryer was terrible but...

Me and my boyfriend stayed 5 nights at Aizuya Inn. It's a very cosy place, with a homey feel to it. We booked a dorm room but when we arrived we were told we had been given a free upgrade to a "semi double". However this room was absolutely tiny. I wouldn't have minded so much but it literally wasn't...

This place is absolutely incredible. It's ocated in a very peaceful neighbourhood, pretty close to the train station. My stay there was wonderful. The decoration is very original and made me smile more than once, the innkeeper is both helpful and nice, there's always coffee available and the rooms are comfy AF.

The hostel was a good 10-15min walk from Minami-Senju Station, South Exit, with a 7Eleven on the way (ATM). Pro: - friendly staff, I really can't say anything bad about them - the themed toilets and showers were interesting (Hello Kitty or landscape themed toilets, fan themed dressing area in the shower) - clean toilets from what I could see...

Located not on the loop line of Tokyo, but still very close to the city center (Asakusa, Ueno). Around 5-7 minutes to the station of JR and metro. Very cozy, cool design of the common rooms and helpful and welcoming staff! Rooms are equipped with TV and air conditioning, but don't forget that shower is 100 yen per 5 minutes...

The hostel was clean and the staff was helpful when I asked them to accept a parcel for me that arrived before I did. As other have mentioned, the showers cost 100¥ per five minutes of use. The manager, Raoul, claims that this is to conserve water but all the guests know that it's just a way to squeeze out...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
