The hotel is 5-7min from Ueno stations. Follow the instruction from the hotel, it is easy to find. If you have heavy luggage, it is better to go under the subway exit for lift. Need to go behind the Nissay building, may a bit confusing for the first time visit, after that just go straight. Room is ok, not very...

I had a good stay at this hotel. The staff is friendly and competent. A bonus point is the quick email response. The room is clean, comfortable bed, fast internet, a bonus is the water kettle and a bathroom with toiletries. The location is great - just few minutes away from Ueno station. Thank you!

Pros: Location was great. Walking distance to Ueno Park and the surrounding neighborhood was full of nice restaurants and bars. Laundry facilities. 24 hour Lawson right next door! Cons: Charge on my account was listed under a different name. The staff weren't aware of this other name so I ended up having to cancel my card for no reason.

We had a great stay at Tokyo Ueno Izu Hotel. The heater works well, the toiletries are available and the staffs are nice. The hotel is accessible from Ueno station and there are convenience stores and other food stalls nearby. We booked a smoking room (since all non-smoking rooms are fully booked that time). Smoke did smell for a while...

Stayed here for one night after flight into Narita. Convenient location, as others have mentioned very clean and staff were helpful. Bed was a bit hard but apart from that I would stay here again. For those getting here with luggage (saves you from carrying up the stairs) follow the signs for the 1.2.9 metro exit, you will walk past...

We had a great one-night stay at this hotel. The room, though small (as with most hotel rooms in Japan), is spotless and no complain at all as the room is priced reasonably - JPY 8200 per night. Our room had a window which opened to a wall, which was probably something not to our liking but since we only...

The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from the Keisei Ueno station. Use Exit 3 of the Ueno station then turn left. You will reach a bend. Take the first alley on your right. As you go down the alley, you will see the Heiwa or Sankyo building. Go pass it and you will find the hotel on your left....

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
