Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the Fuji room at the Centurion Hotel in Ueno, which is one of the larger rooms the hotel provides. It can accommodate more than 7 people, and provides a clean and unique stay above the hustle and bustle of the city. This room also comes with a hot tub that is located outside of the room, which can provide a relaxing reprieve after a long day of sightseeing.

I recently stayed here. It was for one night whilst in Tokyo. It was fine... comfy bed, close to station and the room was bigger that nearly every other room we had in japan on our trip. Only a few small issues: one lift for the whole building and the check in is across the road. A real pain when raining. Apart from that, a great experience.

If all you want is a comfy bed and a good location near the station, this hotel is for you. I thought the hotel looked great in the photos online but it doesn’t reflect the reality. We were in the annex building as you walk in it stinks of smoke, only one lift to get up 10 floors and it’s basic to say the least. Only saw the reception and restaurant in the main which is tired but seem ok. Don’t waste money on the breakfast rate - eat somewhere else. Breakfast is terrible, we really struggled, I noticed the family next to us went and bought cereal from the supermarket next door.

The room is big enough and good location. We stayed 3 nights, but the last day was surprised when we returned from visiting the city. Everything was not cleaned, bed, towel, toilet.... excepted the trash bin. So the room service very poor. Thank,

Convenience is the advantage of this hotel and price is reasonable. Old and needs refurbishing already. Service is good. The room that was assigned to us has some problems with air conditioning. Lots of restaurants and shopping around.

The rooms were very narrow, smallest we’ve stayed in but there was room for the three of us because we each had a bed! It was paradise. Breakfast was included which I had completely forgotten about so that was a bonus. My two daughters struggled to find food they like though (fussy kids) I filled up on more than enough to get me through till well past lunch. Location was fantastic, close to so many train stations, getting around was a breeze. Purchased a Pasmo card this trip (including a child’s card) lots easier. Supermarket was right next door but we received three bottles of water every day so that cut down on us having to buy any. Coin operated laundry was available which was very handy to do a load of laundry before moving on to our next stop.

This hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and it was in a great position, very close to several subway stations as well as to Ueno Park, one of the most popular places for cherry blossom viewing in late March/early April. There were hundreds of restaurant options nearby. The room was extremely small, a bit wider than our large double bed and there wasn't a lot of space for our luggage. The bathroom looked like it was designed for a boat, so compact that I couldn't stretch both arms out to the walls. The shower was very good. Despite being tiny, we enjoyed our stay here and it was reasonable value for money.

Was greeted with friendly staff who were more than happy to hold our luggage until check in time, we also had a late flight and they were equally happy to hold our bags after checkout until it was time to jump on the train. The location is only a 5-10 min walk from the train station and is pretty much in the heart of the action from a food and shopping point of view. Only small negative was that the breakfast was a little disappointing. Not bad just could have had more options.

Booked a Japanese style room on the 3rd floor of the Annex building. I booked non smoking but unfortunately it smelled like smoke because the second floor is a casino. If you are sensitive to smoke smell, don’t book here. The hotel did offer a refund, but it took an hour to negotiate.
