Stayed in Room 305, a 3 Persons Private Room. PROS: The location in Asakusa was fantastic - a 4-minute walk to Tawaramachi Station, a 6-minute walk to Sensō-Ji Temple, and best of all, only a 4-minute walk to SEIYU in Asakusa ROX which is where you should go at night for discounted food! There is free tea, coffee, and water in the lobby 24/7 and the front desk provides one free mask per day. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. You can ask for toothbrushes and razors at the front desk for free. There is a communal bathroom and kitchen on the 6th floor, which you are welcome to use. Staff was very friendly and building was secured at night. CONS: The Wifi was very weak in the room, but worked okay in the lobby. The water from the shower leaks onto the bathroom floor so be sure to wear flip flops! The bed frames were a bit dusty and the view from the window was not great, but we cannot complain for the price we paid.…
Good for family with kids. Room clean and quiet environment. Hotel location near attractions location in Taito. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Definitely will staying in this hotel again...
Recommended due to good location and safe neighbourhood. but kitchen a bit rusty and dirty need to improve cleanliness on the kitchen side. Overall I will come here again to book and stay at this hostel.
It is small but enought for the price. It is centric in the Ueno neigbourhood. So close to the metro station, 15 minutes to the japan rail pass and full of restaurants around. Hostel eih very nice people
As soon as I arrived I was greeted with a 'Welcome Nathan' sign which was nice to walk into and a great start to my four night stay! The triple room was SPACIOUS for Tokyo standard's! Had a TV, decent size bathroom and comfortable beds! Plug points were easily available throughout the room as well as by the bed sides. WINNING! It had a well equipped kitchen above which all the amenities (fridge, pans, bowls, plates, cutlery, electric stoves) you need to be self sufficient with regards to food and the kitchen was super clean too! The staff here we're also super helpful and friendly! Very close to the famous Senso-ji temple and only 20 mins walk from the Sky Tree! With it being so close to high street - you have a variety of convenient stores and restaurants you can turn to! Huge value for money :)…
Khaosan Tokyo Laboratory is located down the road from Sensoji Temple in the heart of Asakusa. It's close to two train stations/metro stops so you can easily connected to the rest of Tokyo and Narita Airport. The hostel was very clean, the beds were comfortable and there was a good sized kitchen. The staff were lovely and accommodating with lots of local knowledge.
We stayed with my husband and two teenagers. Perfect for a short visit to Tokyo when you only come to sleep at the hotel. Beds are comfortable and is very clean. It has a special telephone free of charge to move around in the city with internet connection that saved our trip and avoid lots of challenges knowing where to go. Also had free umbrella that came handy on a rainy day.
Overall this hostel is suitable for everyone, family, students, couple or single traveller. The staff were all lovely and approachable. We even had a Gyoza Party recently and it was fun with everyone having a go at making gyoza, in our experience it was our first! The rooms were basic, but well kept and clean. The location was A*, very accessible to and from central Tokyo. Asakusa is a gem on its own with little shops of wonder! I could spend my whole day perusing every little corner of that place. I will spread the words to my friends and families that if by chance they go to Tokyo in a budget, Khaosan Tokyo Labo is the answer. Will definitely stay again in the future.
This is exactly as I thought it would be... great central location and walking distance to everything we wanted. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen /laundry facilities were what we wanted. The bedroom and bathroom was a little dirty for our liking (we had a toddler).. so overall, you get what you pay for
Worst hostel I have ever stayed. I stayed in a 4 person room with a private bathroom. I visited on July, 2017 - The beds are not clean - The bathroom is not clean, find stain in the shower - You have to move your toiletries out of bathroom when they come to clean otherwise they will throw it away. - The room was very small. - AC is not working so it is hot inside the room in summer.
