We stayed here for 2 nights, last minute booking via laterooms.com. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and nice beds. Rooms small as per normal Tokyo, but clean and had safe built in. Minimal wardrobe space, and very small bathrooms. The shower cubicle had some loose fittings, and damp on the bathroom floor. 2 lifts, hotel happy to keep your luggage for...

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Akihabara. Since our main goal for Tokyo was to shop Manga and Light Novels. We were very happy with the hotels, friendly staff, good amenities and clean. The safety box in the room was a big plus, always nice to leave stuff in the room and know its untouched. Would stay...

My wife and I recently celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary trip and we stayed at this hotel. We were presently surprised by the gesture of the staff of writing personal greetings and wishes to celebrate the occasion with us. The concept of this hotel is featured in Channel News Asia, Singapore of the unique model in attracting Asian guests. However,...

I've been in this hotel for a full week in a double room and I really enjoyed the great position since it's both near the metro station and the Asakusa Temple with its lively streets nearby. There are also a couple of fast food restaurants, a Starbucks, a super market and an information center in a 500m radius from the...

I stayed at this hotel for six nights with my girlfriend. Our overall experience was excellent and I would definitely recommend this hotel! Getting there: As we arrived very late at Haneda Airport and the subway closes at midnight, we had to take a taxi. We had the address printed out in Japanese and the taxi driver had no trouble...

Location is ideal just 5 mins walk from tawaramachi metro station.. This hotel is more like a spa and you need to pay for the Kimona (bit odd comparable to other hotels in Japan) and they do sell a host of other things including shampoo, conditioner etc.. walkable distance to senzoji temple and kappabakshi ( famous for ceramics, utensils and...

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of March beginning of April. Room was booked by travel agent but unfortunately without the breakfast included or room amenities like soap and shampoo etc. Our other party members had these included. Close to Subway and Family Mart which had excellent sandwiches'.

Stayed in this hotel because of a package deal. The hotel is 1 minute walk from Tawaramachi station on the Ginza line but note that Tawaramachi is a small station and we had to carry our luggage up many many many steps. There is an elevator at one of the exits but if you are not familiar with the station,...

We were a bit confused by the 'pick your extras' concept on arrival (basically you can buy and hire extras not included in your room), but we arrived early and were able to leave our bags. Check in was slick, and reception is open 24 hours. The room itself was quite small, but I'm sure the value was good compared...

The receptionis has mistaken giving my friends a single room while they should get a double room. To pay the mistake, the hotel put them in the tripple room...wow! Even we should buy the ammenities that provided at front of the lobby, but the basic room itself its very good and very clean. Theres a small savebox and electric kettle....

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
