We stayed in B:Conte Asakusa for 8 nights (March 19-27, 2016). Initially, I wanted to stay at a ryokan that I previously stayed in 6 months ago. However, no rooms were available, so I had to find other accommodations. I selected B:Conte because it had great reviews, a beautiful layout, and a great location. I am so glad that I... More

Great location near Asakusa station (5-10 mins walk) and a lot of smaller shops (7/11, Starbucks, etc). Also very close to the Senso-Ji temple which is a very popular tourist location - top tip is to avoid the crowds and go out early at 6am or so to get photos. Most of the time we needed to get back to... More

Everyone was talking about how small hotels are in Tokyo. This hotel is though quite spacious for two of us and has EVERYTHING you need. Has washing machine + dryer in the room is very handy. Very convenient location to go all the places we want to visit and plenty of shopping and food around the area. Love it!

A washer/dryer was located near the front door and the kitchenette was fully stocked with microwave, toaster, refrigerator, rice cooker and utensils. - Bathroom: Well designed with a walk-in shower and large sink area. Room is excellent. Size is good with a lot of useful facilities such as a large fridge, microwave, rice cooker and laundry machine. Disappointingly, the cooktop in our room doesn't function. The location is very good for lots of eateries and supermarkets. The location is not that great when wanting to go to other places to sightsee and shop. I... More

Dear. Andrew W, Thank you for your staying with us and taking your time to write the review for us. As for the cooktop, the plan you selected was "No kitchenette plan", this room is reasonable price than other room types. The hotel is located in Asakusa on a pedestrian street half way between the Tskuba line station and the Senso-ji temple: a short walk from each. The rooms are quite big for a Tokyo hotel at the price range and have a small kitchen with a washer-dryer. The service was excellent with the reception staff speaking reasonable English (which is... We stayed in a studio room for 2 nights in December and feel like it was the best hotel out of many that we stayed at all over Japan. Stayed here for five nights on a recent trip to Japan. Our arrival flight into Tokyo at night which meant we would arrive at the hotel outside of their check-in hours. I emailed the hotel to arrange an out of hours check-in. They provided an extremely quick and friendly response with instructions in English. All the staff we dealt with... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
