Spent the last few nights of our trip here (had tried the other Tokyo K's house at beginning of trip - also fantastic). We had a double ensuite Type A room here - very spacious room, comfy bed, great little ensuite including shower over bath - Air con, toiletries, cheap towel hire (100yen) - changed daily. Place is spotless. Seems...

We stayed here 3 nights and liked it a lot! Great friendly staff, private room was spacious and good wifi. Also a great location, close to metro stations and the Senso-ji temple. Minor thing; no dark curtains so you wake up to the sunrise. Might be inconvenient if you're jet lagged!

K's House was out base during our week long trip to Tokyo. About 10 minutes walk to the subway, 2 mins to a large supermarket and 4 minutes to a McDonalds (for something familiar) When checking in the staff where super helpful speaking great English and helping us with Maps, directions and recommendations. They had a dumpling night where everyone...

So many good words can be used to sum up Ks house Oasis: Friendly AND helpful STAFF, clean, feels like home, warm and cosy common area to meet people or chill out on your own. I stayed here around 10 days in both the DORM (with convenient lockup cupboards) and PRIVATE room. The private room was better than most hotels!...

I've stayed in several K's Houses throughout Japan and they never fail to deliver. The staff all speak good English and are really helpful. The hostels are always spotless, and the toilets and showers are nice and warm which is just what you want after a cold day trudging around sightseeing. Wifi is fast, kitchens are well equipped and there's...

The hostel is very thoughtful, giving its guests clear directions of how to get there, as well as a self-made map of the key locations, as well as good and cheap eateries near the hostel. Its location is definitely a plus as it is close to the metro station, key sights in Asakusa, and a mega supermart that sells everything...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
